Marketing Tips needed...

Hi,

We have just reciently launched a new site and would like some marketing tips for the site. The site is <url removed> it is a uniquely coded URL shorten service that can be used for protecting your URL's in auctions so the serps don't pick it up (with the option to password protect it!) along with sending your links in emails, linking, emails, text messages, IM's, and so on. There is even an option to create multiple urls with this service.

Whats your input? How would you recommend I promote the site? I know the basic steps... ses, linking, directories, article submissions, etc. I'm currently working on them to better the site popularity but is there a niche I dont know about that would highly benifit the sites existance?

Do marketing in forums, social networking sites. You have to get it to the webmasters. Market in places where webmasters hang in.

Start shortening your own signatures and images you use with different forums and images. Advertise its benefits to newbies that doesn't know about URL shortening. A good place to start may be forums that have specific needs to cloak their URLs.

Let others know that your site is better because it's still under radar vs tinyurl which is huge. It has a very viral nature, as long as your site delivers and has a little bit of an extra benefit people will come eventually. However, you're looking at a good amount of time to advertise it in the beginning.

They are already marketing in webmaster forums.

Pay for search marketing, perhaps...if you have a budget.
They will provide your most targeted visitors.

Try mixing all the marketing tools together. Done in the right way, it will increase traffic to your site for sure.

One of the most important factors is how your website is structured, designed and if it is capable to do self-promotion (items such as tell a friend, newsletter, periodic prizes for customers, a blog, a forum, content, periodic updates, press releases, etc.)

Social bookmarking sites can drive quite a bit of traffic, if done properly.

Get visitors related to your niche using a piece of software called Visitor Frenzy!

This software sends HTTP requests to thousands of URLs with your link as referer,
this makes the webmasters think they got a hit from your site and will check out your site to see where their link is placed (Which isn't, so they'll even check your website several times sometimes)

Just gather list of URLs related to your niche, for any help or questions I suggest you to sign-up at <url removed> - the official Visitor Frenzy forums.

When it comes to marketing way, you can market your website thru active participation in forums like this; suggesting your website if you see a chance; blogging; social networking.

you can try social networking and social bookmarking. Article marketing is also one of the good way.

I'm new into this online marketing thing. What I do now is that it's good to have keyword researching via keyword search tools. Find the keywords with the most search volumes (and preferably with less search results) the use these words in your article.

Best way is to be naturally indexed on page 1 of Google, Yahoo, MSN. Preferably positions 1 thru 3.

yes this is true... but still, it doesn't mean all traffics will convert.

Hey Beacon,

Of course you are correct. Page 1 Search engine positioning is COMPLETELY different than the principles of conversions. One does not guarantee the other.
