What irks me is that I got a fixed mortgage on a breckenridge homes I could afford, bought small cars I could afford, eliminated all my credit card debt, diversified my retirement savings and scrimped enough to put $5000 in the bank and I'll be paying for all those dummies that did just the opposite. I have no sympathy for people in Breckenridge houses they can't afford. As a retiree in the NE region of the country, I must say that the embedded tax structure of all levels of government has put an unbearable load on my golden years. Where I live, Breckenridge real estate is reasonably priced, but the tax rate is astounding. Once you buy, you don't dare do anything to your home that will need a building permit as your assessment will jump.
