I think it tells you you have a message, much like with a PM, when you log in the Private Messages unread count is not zero, indicating the number of PMs you have received.

Yep! Shows up nice and clearly for me to read. In fact I don't even have to go to your profile, it is listed as part of our conversation.

It seems you can set levels of access to what people see of your profile. I have you as a friend and I have allowed my friends to see details about myself. But I have not allowed guests or non-friends to do so. Check my profile while not logged in and see if you see the same things as when you are logged in, there should be a difference.

Zap says the group membership thing is for later versions of vbulletin, so we can't make a group up. We'll just have to use the chess thread in the back room still. :)

So Muddy have you figured out what these Group Memberships things are all about. I was thinking of starting a chess group, but I've no idea how yet. Fancy being in the chess group?
