Smartphones cases and wireless charging

Do smartphone cases hinder wireless charging in some way?

As it is, wireless charging creates some extra heat. Adding a smartphone case to a phone adds some thickness to the shell of a phone. Is there any proof that increasing the distance between the charger and phone can increase this heat and accelerate batter degradation?

in my experience (three years or so), using a thick heavy case, I have experienced no degradation of my smartphone battery (I have a Samsung).

NO, the smartphone covers or cases do not hinder the wireless charging if its of the following material. plastic, rasin, paper, rubber.

but its a diff. story for metal covers. metal covers hinders the wireless chargers magnetic induction coils transmitter and receiver also which is in the battery circuit.

theirs also a video which has shown it in practical.
