I figured there's no better place to start before actual commenting than the welcome board.
I'm a graphic design student actually, but was inspired by a web design class as well as my instructor for said class to dive into web design as a serious career path. During this past semester, I landed a job at a small internet marketing firm where I update clients' websites, do some design work, implement basic SEO, and just started managing a social media campaign. All this lands me the meager title of Digital Generalist. Regardless, it's a good start and I'm learning quite a bit.
As far as knowledge goes, I know html/xhtml, css, basic SEO, basic social media management skills, and have a firm design background. As far as web stuff goes, I just have a start.. but I'm quite motivated to learn more! As of now I'm looking to advance my css skills and take on javascript.
I joined this community since it included a variety of boards of interest instead of just being a web design specific forum or an SEO one. (Having stumbled upon it several times also played a factor.
