Smile Hello from a cabin in Northern California

Hi, I'm new here... I just saw the link at Twitter and followed it because my intuition was nagging me to do so. I've found a wonderful web community on one of my favorite topics: webdesign! Well, I am just so thrilled...

I've been designing websites since 1996, and owned a webdesign business from 2003 to 2007 when I closed it so I'd have more time for other interests. I worked in a restaurant but lost my job about a year ago. I'm considering going back into the webdesign business, but I've already converted my design site into a blog to tell people how to start their own webdesign businesses. Well, there's still time to think things over; I'm not flat broke yet.

I also love writing and have been writing novels with NaNoWriMo since 2001 (this is my ninth year.) I finally, after all these years, got one novel ready to sell, and it is being submitted to agents now. Please wish me luck on that; we could really use the money!

Hmmm... well, to continue, I have some strange hobbies. Top of the list is Bigfoot research. I live in a cabin in the Klamath-Siskiyou Mountains. There have been multiple Bigfoot sightings within a mile of my home but I've never seen one yet. I keep hoping.

I'm also a family rights activist, a gardener, a herbalist, and just an all-around happy person.

I look forward to discussing webdesign, SEO, and related topics with you!

Thanks for a warm welcome! I haven't seen Bigfoot, but I know what it looks like because a professional forensic sketch artist has been creating drawings based on eye-witness testimonies. Apparently most Bigfoot look a lot like humans, and not like apes. They are taller than us, and usually heavier but the young ones can be slight. The faces are very human-like, but they have no neck and their arms are longer.

Hehe, a "gardener" and "herbalist" in Northern California? Isn't Klamath part of the Emerald Triangle, where the three biggest marijuana producing counties are?

Sorry for the comment if it strikes the wrong chord but I just watched a special on TV about that part of California so I was a bit curious.

But in all seriousness, welcome to the forum!

Thanks everyone, for the warm welcome.

To New Media - it is true that medical marijuana is commonly grown legally in this area. There's also a lot of illegal marijuana farms in the national forests, which makes them dangerous for Bigfoot researchers to do much work in, during the summers. Most of the illegal farms are run by southern cartels. For this reason alone I hope that marijuana is legalized in our state. Then they'd have no reason to hide in the forests and we would be so much safer.

Definitely nice to meet you! Glad you feel that way. I'm from a state that is very harsh on legalization. Even though I'm on the right I've always been strongly for it, despite never using it, on the sole basis that it would put all of the street-peddling criminals out of business, replacing them with respectable, taxable, legal businesses. Alcohol prohibition was the lifeblood of the mob, drug prohibition is the lifeblood of criminal gangs (and intelligence services who use it to fund black ops).

I hope you can do the bigfoot research without harm, I've always wondered if there were some survivor neanderthal or something that could resemble a bigfoot. I've been a bit of a skeptic, but I had a phase of interest in bigfoot when I was younger (and with all mysterious creatures: lochness, chupacabra, etc.) Enjoy your stay! These forums are great. I've found a lot more optimism and positiveness on these forums than on some of the other webmaster forums, and it's very well managed.
