Having mistakes are normal but it will teach us to do better next time.Do not be afraid to try things as long as you're working on the right path.

In the U.S. I believe there is a site called Legal Zoom that can help with the process of starting a sole proprietorship. Having a lawyer look everything over to avoid a costly mistake isn't a bad idea either.

Cant help you without knowing your location. Also you need to tell whether you are trying to target local market or global market.

Google is your friend. Also, consult with a CPA and attorney before getting things started. Best of luck.

Whether you want to start a carpenting business ,drycleaning business, mover or packers, courier services, matrimonials etc.You must start it online.

I think if you are looking for advice on starting a business...you're going to have to give a bit (or a lot if I'm honest) more information than just stating simply "I want to start a business, what do I do?" Give the people you are asking something to work with...otherwise how would they be able to help you specifically? Your post is very generic.

Totally agree with you in this field. Sushil gave a very gereric question that is hard to find good advices. But you should try yourself. Failure is a root of success. You certainly has google as a friend and everyone on the forums for the best advice.

For over 20 years I am successful offline business man, and for over 2 years I am Internet marketer. I can tell you some rules which you must follow to be successful in any kind of business, offline or online.
1. Research about your direct competitors.
* What they are doing and how?
* What you can do better then them?
2. You must offer to your customers top quality product or service.
3. The customer is always right!
4. Never ever compete in a lower price with the competition. Be just different. Be the best in particular market!
5. If you are opening any kind of offline shop you have three most important things: location, location and location (50m difference sometimes mean a huge difference in profit)
6. If you are starting online business you have three most important things: information, information and information (Internet users search for information about products or services etc. Give them best UNIQUE information using same words they are using when they are searching for information on search engines. And you can monetize from that very easy!)
7. What you can do today, do not leave for tomorrow!
8. Re-invest a certain percentage of the earnings in your business!
9. Always ask yourself questions about your product or service from customers point of view! And consider all possible answers to them!
10. Any kind of problem solve as fast as possible! (In ANY kind of business any single person will have problems. Just successful ones will solve these problems as fast as possible!)
And at the end let me write here some quotes from my favorite business man ever! I am not American, I am Croatian citizen but I love this one:
"Be courageous. I have seen many depressions in business. Always America has emerged from these stronger and more prosperous. Be brave as your fathers before you. Have faith! Go forward!"
Thomas A. Edison
"Being busy does not always mean real work. The object of all work is production or accomplishment and to either of these ends there must be forethought, system, planning, intelligence, and honest purpose, as well as perspiration. Seeming to do is not doing."
Thomas A. Edison
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."
Thomas A. Edison
Be brave and start living your dreams!
Ivan Josip

Number four is a very important point. I listened to a tape of a man who was making over $100,000 a year selling vacum cleaners. He stated build value do not reduce price.
Not to confuse the two of us, I'm stating be sure your product is given a higher value than what it's sold. This will help your prospects realize what a good bargain they're getting
