If I have 1,000 USD I will spend it on directory submissions, adwords or hire a very good SEO freelancer. This can boost you website's traffic and search engine rankings.

I'll try PPC campaign since I never tried doing it.

Not sure what the split would be but I would use some for PPC advertising, some for good quality content and then some for prizes for competitions on the site to reward our members.

I would put it into PPC advertising, which I've actually never purchased before. I would sponsor a contest on one of my sites. I would also by a banner ad or 2 on some relevant sites. Internet advertising is such a cheap commodity $1000 would go a long way.

i would not invest my money in the directory submissions , try to utilize the free directory submissions, PPC campaign and paid advertisements is a good option in front of me

I liked several of the ideas mentioned... directories are a good start. Might use some to bring in someone to do a bit of on-site SEO as well. In many markets you could even do some cable advertising with just a portion of the $1000. I was surprised to hear how cheap ads are on niche cable channels.

depends on what kind of website / product / blog you have, if you have a ecom website i would suggest PPC which would get you visitors and in turn you would make a sale and the revenue generated could be split between ppc and seo but if you have a blog or a static website then it would be better to do seo with the 1k u have
