How much to start a small online retail business?

Please ONLY answer if you HAVE an online business. Basically, I just need to know what an average monthly price should be for a website that can support a business and have enough bandwidth without causing slow usage. Also, if you have any suggestions for where I should host my domain that would be great. Lastly, if you have started and online retail business please share some tips which could help my effort.

Well if you know about SEO so you don't need to pay you can earn your self by gaining ranking in search engine.

This is exactly the same reply I though of as, there are several hosting providers who provides you with the best hosting for your websites also it provides you good bandwidth which will serves your purpose as Godaddy is a best hosting provider also, if you want to generate revenue for your online business than it is better to go for SEO and SEM, as this wil work the best for you.

As there are several processes it involves which will provide you to get lot of money for you.

I think it's very little to generate revenue on the Internet. Of course,
it depends on the economic sector.

I don't pay anything for SEO and I am doing very well, being on first page of google for competitive keywords, and 1st in Bing for many of them so I would never suggest paying for SEO.

For domain and web hosting it really isn't that expensive any more.
I have a fantastic package with my webhost for £5.99 per month (12 month package) and you can host 5 domains. They also do an affiliate scheme which is a great way to make a big of extra money. Check them out at http://www.markethosting.co.uk

So that we can give some more advice, what sort of business are you looking at? eCommerce or something else?

Ok if you do it alone.
But people don't always have time to do SEO. In this case, it's better to employ "professionals". And it's expensive for a good job.

You can consider buying hosting at Hostgator. Their hosting is reliable and their support if great.

The question here is a little bit along the lines of "how long is a piece of string?"

Your spend on bandwidth, SEO and PPC, for instance, will depend greatly upon the sector that you're looking to operate within and your particular niche.

Small online retail business, the Cost is very low, Such as, you should submit eBay Account, and know some suppliers. so easy......

Hi

I have an online business (my very first project) that now averages 3K visits a day or more. The retail sales I do are my own products, but mostly do Adsense and affiliate sales (which is nice, because it means no back end work for me.)

I think you are going to get a wide range of answers to your question, because there are a lot of ways to go about what you want to do.

I use SBI! (Site Build It!) and pay $25 a month for everything, including having the ability to let other people create pages on my site - called Content 2.0 - which has added close to 3,000 pages for me. My site is very active and growing, with fresh content being added daily. (Search engines love that.)

SBI has no restrictions on bandwidth and speed is never an issue. They also have unsurpassed support both technically and learning-wise. I learned everything from the bottom up through SBI and having everything, including having incredible keyword research and SEO tools at my fingertips.

What I pay is very, very cheap, I think, for everything I get. Matching apples to apples, this would cost $100s per month and features like Content 2.0 aren't even available anywhere else - unless you're extremely talented as a programmer or paid someone to build it for you. (Which would be $1000s)

But that's me. There are hundreds of variations, services and add-ons available, though. So what you're asking is not really a straightforward answer, I don't think.
