Some tips you must read if you are preparing to do some online business

Preparation

Recently some readers expressed their strong desire to get some information about wholesale of clothing. Because garments made in China are cheap and the quality is medium. They want to purchase a lot of cheap clothing from China and then sell in their own countries at a medium price. In this way, they can make a remarkable profit. But they don’t know how to find good suppliers and how to pick the suitable styles. So they asked me for advices. And I told them before they make their purchase they should think clearly the following questions and then make a decision.

1. Who are your main customers?
This is very important. One should know clearly what kind of customers he want to attract, women or men, children, adolescent, youth, middle-aged or the old people, career women or housewives. People usually believe that clothing for women and children sells faster, but we should know the competition is also fiercer. So think carefully and do not make your decision in rush.

2. Which style of clothing you want to sell?
There are a lot of styles in the market and which one is your choice. If your main customers are women, then you should decide which style you want, casual, sport or formal. You can have a survey about how much girls pay for their clothing and which style are their favorite. Don’t forget to see how much competitors you may have. After all these, you can make your decision

Lisa, my friend, told me she wanted to sell female clothing at eBay, but she didn’t know how to find a good supplier. this post is what I will tell her~


Surf internet and find a suitable supplier.
The internet is full of information and what you need to do is to find it out. China is the factory of the world and you can get almost everything in Chinese market. There is a famous website for foreigners, alibaba.com , in which a lot of Chinese factories post the information of their products. And the web has a search function which helps find wanted information fast.

Contact the factory.
After you find wanted information, you can contact the customer service online or by email. After seeing several factories, you can make your order.

Only buy a few for the first time.
Buying online you can not see the goods with your own eyes, and you don’t know if it is really good. So please don’t buy too much when it’s your first time buy products on the online shop. Or you may return the goods, then you will waste your time and money.

Buy from several factories at the same time.
After comparison of prices and shipping fees, you can buy a few from each factory. For instance, you can buy a t-shirt and a dress from wholesale-dress.net for 25 dollar and DHL shipping fee is 13.99 dollar. The second shop is yesstyle.com, you pay $45 for a t-shirt and a dress and $9.99 for shipping fee. After the goods arrived, you can compare the quality. You may find the quality is almost the same, but the second shop is more expensive. So you know you can make more profit if you wholesale from the first shop.

Get a cheaper price

To businessman, profit is the most important. And the main way to achieve profit for a clothing dealer is to buy clothing at a very cheap price from the supplier and sell to customers at a higher price. The cheaper price he can get means the more profit he can get. Now I would like to say something about how to get a cheaper price from the supplier.

Find wholesalers as your supplier.
There are a lot of suppliers in the market and the price of the same clothing differs a lot. You need to figure out who can give you cheap price and who can not. If you find the wrong place, then you need to pay high purchase price. Why that happened? Because when you find the wrong place, you have to pay for the cost currency. Only when your order is huge enough you can buy direct from the factory, otherwise the best choice for you is to find wholesalers as your supplier.

The second way is bulk purchase.
In China the rule is the more you buy the cheaper price you can get. That is why team buy is so popular in China. As I mention in last article, for the first time you should buy a few to make sure the quality, but for the second time, you can buy a lot in order to get a cheaper price. For example: wholesale-dress.net has a 10% discount for all order above 1000 dollars, if you buy even more, contact their customer service, I think you can get a cheaper price. If you still think the price is high, you can join in team buy.

Do not forget to discuss on the return policy.
The return policy is very important, what about if something is wrong with the clothing or if the clothing doesn’t sell well in your country.

Yes, finding the right suppliers and identifying your target market(s) are very important aspects of business; however, if you are planning to establish an online business, don't forget the other part of your research. You really need to take a good look at your competition. Check out the other sites selling what you are planning to sell. Check their prices, return policies, page rank, and anything else you can find out about them first. If you find that there are a few huge businesses out there selling your prospective products at just about what you would be paying for them, better think twice. You may need to find a smaller niche market whose needs are not being met by the big guys.

The easier way to get around the "buy a small amount first" is to get a dropshipper and then you buy what you get ordered and that is it.. No need for having inventory you just get paid, take your cut and pay the manufacturer to deliver the product for you..
