Very informative article, good find Cricket

There is a definitely a shift in perception, that the web allows for.

In the past the brand was important to quickly establish personality, as most promotion would be done in a medium that only had time for a kiss goodnight, rather than a one night stand, and that kiss had to be memorable.

So, brand has always been about personality, it is how to make that initial stunning entrance to a party. And, perhaps the word brand at the time was more seductive than the word personality, words come in and out of fashion.

The web does allow for a deeper relationship, it is an interactive medium, that the reader can enjoy at their own pace.

Good, to see personality make a come back.

Love that article! I just want to say that Sean D'Souza (the man behind Psychotactics) is about the most brilliant man I know. (I've been a student of his for a few years now.) If you have the chance, be sure to sign up for the free Psychotactics newsletter. It's one of the very few I still read faithfully.

Also, for a few more days only you can get a free $2500 course from him. (He really does sell this course for that much. People really do buy it. And he really does take offers away when he says he will.) Grab it now at http://psychotactics.com/free

It'll change your life! (or at least the way you do business )

Personality does matter more than brand. I read this article where people are broken down into 4 categories and one of them being "what's it going to do for me." If you can answer that and the other 3 categories then you made a sale!

Great article! I love the real life example he uses to emphasize his point.

The strange thing about it is that I just thought about the very same thing some days ago, before reading this article, and came to the same conclusion. So I'll try to add a little bit more personality to my blogs.

And the author really gets to the point: Content and personality is your real packaging. I totally agree with that. A good brand name is more like a bonus. It's not that important anymore because we're living in times of bookmarking and subscribing, so you don't even need to remember the name anymore.

BTW: I did bookmark his blog. I guess the personality of the blog attracted me.
