The online business is not limited by age. Any one can do this - if it is done properly using the right approach. In my opinion, i would probably advice kids to start their own blog and then monetize it using ads and some affiliate programs. Example could be that if a 16 year old is interested in gaming, he or she can start a blog that talks about favorite games and promote relevant gaming products. Hope this helps.

I agree there's no age limit. In fact a kid might do better than a lot of us by simply setting up sites that interest them. Advertiser's love kids and what kids are interested in.

When you say kids, what age group are you talking about?
Remember kids need to know about the spammers and scammers that are online and how to avoid them..etc
I get emails with links to phishing sites but i know not to click on the link and block the email address. Yes, the email title is convincing but these are some of the things young kids need to know about when getting into the home based business stuff. There are sneaky people out there to make a buck or even try to gain access to your paypal account, credit card or bank account number. Teach kid's about the bad things in the online home based business before telling them about the good things that could come with it. (You know earning money for hard work that was put in..etc)
I'd say have kids create a website that interests them because they are the ones who will be running it. Parents can look over there shoulder though and lend a helping hand and all that stuff.
Example site would be a arcade, forum...etc

Yes, i also agree that parents need to watch over the kid's shoulder to ensure that they do not fall into the danger lurking online. Another easy online business would be of course Ebay! I first started my online venture on Ebay and sold some of my old books which i no longer need. This idea could be viable but of course need to be under parental guidance.

There are lots of opportunities for kids also to make money sitting at home. They can work with paid to click sites like neobux where they will be paid only for clicking on ads.Just be aware of the scams and you are done.

If you have programming skills, you can earn money in freelancer websites. And you can start a website for kids in your age. You know better that anyone what are the interesting things for kids in your age. Also if you have seo knowledge you can make a website and by optimizing it, drive traffic to it and there are some PPC networks that you can work with them.

in my opinion kids should not earn or work
kids should know 2 things in bellow 5 years group
Eat
Sleep
and above 5 to 10 years group should know
Eat
Sleep
Study
in group 10 to 15
they should start experiments on so parents can know in which thing they are more interested so they plane for there future

No one has brought this up yet so I will: When you signup for sites (affiliates, work sites, domain name registration, web hosting, etc) you agree to their terms and conditions (a.k.a. a contract between yourself and them).
Kids can't sign contracts without their parent's consent. The age where a young person can sign a contract varies from area to area. e.g. here it's 18 or 19.
Sooo, while you as a parent have decided to let your child do this, you have to make sure they don't get ripped off because the contract is null and void (invalid) due to their age.

Well if you say kids, the first thing that comes to my mind is play.
In my opinion, you do not have to be an adult to get involved in online business. All you have to do is to have a basic knowledge on how to develop a web-based business.

This is true but kids should tell there parents what they are getting involved in online still. You don't want your kid to come to you and say "mommy or daddy, i owe this person $800...can you pay it?"
I think parents should be involved with there kids online business adventures till he or she is more knowledgable about it and can handle themselves online. Like Basic said, all sites have a TOS and private policy that needs to be read and followed.

Now a teenager can just type, “ways for teens to make money” in Google and find several websites and ideas on how to make a few bucks. One option is that Buy some raffle tickets and sell them for $1 a piece with some cool, cheap prizes. Kids always seem willing to give up a bit of their lunch money for the potential of something neat.

No suggest kid to go for the online money making
if they are good in something such as making DIY product, they might consider to sell them through website or ebay

Some kids are good at figuring out what's the next new trend. They certainly can make money with that.

If you are referring to "home based business" in terms of something like franchising then I would say no. Franchising requires contracts to be signed and most states will void the child's signature which would then void the entire contract.
As far as actually making money online, sure. Anyone can be a freelancer and work for other people technically.
