Which area do you want to work in? You need to be specific because there are so many areas you could do online work with.

What are you skills? Any areas of expertise? Anything specific? Interests?
If you can tell me some of these things I'm sure I can help you out.

The answer is Yes, online job is available for everyone who are a interest to do. But, it takes some time to earn a decent money online per month. So, don’t think that you can earn good money in initial stage.

I agree. Odesk is one of the best out there. But even there you need to be careful and choose your contractors well. I work with and have recruited from oDesk, and to be honest, as with any company, you need to take the good with the bad.

Online market is the next generation marketplace to get into it. There are lots of opportunity provided you make sure your skills updated with time. You need to understnad you skills and as per that you can decide which areas or sector you like to choose. You can choose as content writer, website designer, developer, consultant, seo specialist, sem expert etc etc. So know about your interest and then take your step. All the best.

For sure. I have had interviews where people genuinely wanted to work, but were severely overloaded.
Do you think that maybe people should be limited to the amount of work they do, so that their time management is made easier? My number one concern when recruiting was how much time the could spend on a project, and if they were doing 7 jobs or more, its impossible to expect that your project will have their full attention all the time.

I would say yes. But it may take some time and you would have to be consistent. For example as you are here in this forum. V7N has got good page rank and a lot more than that. Suppose you started to post good comments under its guidelines and get more ratings with great number of posts. You can ask for any advertiser to pay you for putting up their links in to your signature.

Take a look at many different online forums. Some of these forums have sections for buying / selling / classifieds. Take a look at jobs that have been posted recently. You will not find these posts on another forum. You have to look at the specific section of the specific forum to find the post.

I agree with much of what john43 says. You can think of an online forum like a newspaper. There could be a classifieds section for buying and selling. There could be a section offering jobs to potential employees. Good luck!
[MOD NOTE: Yeah, and it's sheer coincidence you're "both" posting from the same IP, right? Adios Iggysick, play with your imaginary friends elsewhere.]

I like Odesk more than Scriptlance or like this websites. Odesk is more proffesional IMO and also the amount of projects on Scriptlance which are canceling by poster is not low.

Only you can decide whether this career path (whatever that is) is the best for you. And you are in the best position to evaluate if you work well online or in office setting. Might as well try it out for yourself, don't rely too much on other people's experience as it might just be different for you or that your skills set are of much better use someplace else.

I consider online jobs as an odd jobs and they are only suitable and ideal for students who are facing difficulty in meeting their expenses. But, if you think if you are earning good from the online job like data entry, writing captchas, low level seo jobs etc is enough for you than I will strongly resist this idea.
If you have time than you must step into the real world of internet, online business where you can your every skill. Weather you are a developer, content writer, gardener, chef etc you can set up a foundation for your online business. I am not saying that small online jobs do not pay you, they pay you but my point is if you come up with the reasonable strategy and proper mind set you can do something creative, something you like and can earn a good amount of money from that.
