I know that I also require credit merchant account (which requires money out of my own pocket).

So does this mean I need to purchase a domain name, web hosting server etc? Can you advice me on easiest methods to sell my e-books? Thank you so much for your time.
you may try ebay. social media with business pages of Google+ works very well

if it's a ebook, you can sell it on Amazon (kindle), Clickbank, Trade Bit and all websites that allow you sell digital products (google "how to sell my e-book") to promote your book, make a short (or long) youtube video review and make sure you add you ebook website in the description box. Also submit to video to more video sites using oneload.com. social bookmark and go to facebook groups

I would seriously look into Amazon Kindle right now... it's HOT and a great place to start.

Online book retailers such as Amazon.com & BarnesandNoble.com will supply you with a massive audience base, but they will take a reduction on the price of the book. Amazon.com offers a recommendation service in which you can earn 15% of profits having your book on their recommendation service. Alternatively, you can just create a web page and use social-networking tools.

It would be the best option you can create your own website, then you can do sell books with your preferences, categories. Everything will be yours, means you can customize payment plan, product plan anytime. And with some ad campaign you can bring more customers to your site.

You can build your sales page then use some big affiliate networks such as JVZoo, Warrior Plus, Clickbank.

I just reviewed a bunch of digital delivery providers for my upcoming e-product. I'll be publishing with getDPD ($10 per month) and PayPal. Another good fixed-price provider is E-Junkie, at $5 per month.

There are also percentage-fee based providers. With them, when you don't earn you don't pay. Check out Stripe, LeanPun and GumRoad.
If you need a free sales page that's included, go for LeanPub.

But it's worth to note that the percentage-based fees add up quickly. As I'm expecting to sell for over $100 per month myself, I wanted to for fixed-price providers.

Overall, if you can attract the needed traffic for your product, it's more lucrative to publish yourself. If you can't, you'd better go with Amazon or some other marketplace that takes care of getting traffic and visibility for your book. People need to find your book before they'll buy it.

Hope this helps!

First, you will want to check to see if you need a business license in the state you're in. I can only speak for California, but you need a business license here.
