A customer leaves you for two reasons...
1) Either you don't offer what they are looking for.... or
2) You are offering that at the price which is not affordable to them.

You're going to need to post the link for us to figure this out.

It is probably a problem with the messaging. You are not connecting with the traffic and giving them what they want. Also, there are some people who will never be interested because it's simply not what they are looking for. For example, you are selling industrial-style cleaning solutions but someone is looking for a household vacuum.

content of the product is not persuading, or not convincing to forgone into sell. Other reason improper source of traffic so, for the reason they are not interested.

How did you get them there? If they were tricked into visiting then you are reaping what you sowed.

Are you tracking return visits / purchase ratios? I rarely buy anything on my first visit to a site. I like to shop a bit. If you have a trustworthy appearing site I may buy on a return visit. For some purchases I may visit several times before I buy.

If for any reason I feel you aren't trustworthy I won't buy from you at all. I may pay a higher price elsewhere.

In regards to the opening thread, one thing that can cause this type of "cart abandonment" and lack of a purchase is not having a guest checkout option. If a customer has to create an account in order to make the purchase then it can deter them from following thru and reaching into their wallet. Some people like to shop fast and furious and therefore like to be quick with their checkout process without filling out a form with account details. Making customers create an account before being able to make a purchase is not a bad thing. However keep in mind that not having a "guest option" can cause some shoppers to leave the site without making a purchase.

It depends what you are selling and do they really need it and most important .. a reason why they should by from you? if you can answer this question that will give you clear idea about why there is no sale.

I think a customer leaves a company because it no longer trusts you, doesn't like a certain item you offered or has had a bad experience.
