Google Checkout

For those of you that use Google Checkout, what have your experiences been with them? What do you like about them? Dislike? Do you offer a choice of payment solutions? Or, is Google Checkout your only option?

I have used Google checkout, I really cannot say I like it when compared with say Paypal. The interface is primitive even the login url is a pain plus you are required to buy your own SSL certificate to implement it. I have discontinued using it and have reverted back to Paypal.

Cool Google Checkout experience

I have used Google checkout as an option to pay on several sites. Most people still choose PayPal (I do not use a merchant account) over Google checkout.

It was relatively painless to set up. One nice thing is the money you receive is deposited directly into your bank account whereas PayPal holds it until a bank transfer is made...AND PayPal restricts transfers to $500/month unless you give them a credit card and your social security number - a BIG turnoff.

Fortunately, I have not had any problems where I had to contact Google.

I heard rumors that Google checkout was to shut down but hopefully they are unfounded. Anyone know?

does anyone know if google checkout can manage monthly subscription services? so -- a customer checks out once but recurring billing is put in place until the customer cancels. I know paypal does this but i was wondering if there are other options besides paypal.

I'm currently looking at some different subscription options. I'll post my results/thoughts here after I'm done analyzing the options.

Google checkout is only available in some selected countries at the moment. And it will take time to reach across the world like paypal.
