What is the most economic way to accept payments

What is the most economic way to accept credit card payments in UK from clients from different countries(mainly US). I have been using Paypal / Google checkout. Any other options?

No experience with G. When I did research it a few years back PP was the best of the lot. For really small amounts (under $5) the PP micro account for US and GB clients was the absolute best.

Others charge a smaller % but the per transaction fee or the monthly cost over-shadows that.

AlertPay aren't too bad, with a fee of $0.25 + 2.5% - easy figures to deal with.

Alert Pay looks to be expensive compared to GC and PP for credit card payments with fee of - 5.00 % + $0.25 USD + (2.5% foreign exchange)

Hi,

Leore from Plimus here.

First of all, Charles S, sorry to hear that - you should know that our customer support team only contacts customers from 8am-8pm (in the customers time zone). Can you send me the reference number to your order so that I can look into the reason you were called at that time?

Regarding the initial thread, Plimus offers the most extensive set of payment methods available in the industry. Go to: home.plimus.com/ecommerce/content/most-payment-methods
to see a full list of all the payment methods offered.

Also, feel free to email me with any questions at leorej@plimus.com

Regards,
Leore

This was around 2 years ago. I recall having to signup using an @mydomain.com email address because my @gmail.com wasn't receiving the confirmation email. The domain that I created the email address on is long gone.

What's the purpose of a confirmation call in the first place? My mother was pretty confused when she answered the phone - and thought someone was trying to sell her something.

Hi,

Leore from Plimus again

Charles, happy to hear everything was sorted out.

I also wanted to update you that since your order took place, which you mentioned was 2 years ago, the procedure has changed dramatically and phone verifications are rare and only occur when orders are suspicious and may be fraudulent.

In those cases our customer support team does contact the customer in order to protect both customers and vendors from fraudulent activities.

Bottom line, we know that the phone verifications can be frustrating, but they are beneficial in preventing fraudulent activities which can be more of a headache to customers and vendors. With that, we do listen to our customer's complaints - hence the procedure change.

Again, feel free to contact me with any questions.

Regards,
Leore

Plimus has 4.5% transaction fee(don't know if they charge anything for receiving funds from them to our bank accounts). Also, they do only direct deposits to US bank accounts.

For me Paypal is the most convenient and safest way to accept payments. You can also try Alertpay.

Send a message via Yahoo to icebreaker
I will go with paypal. It's easy to use, very secured and with fast transaction. But I'll check out alertpay if it's a good alternative for paypal.
