Sorry to hear that Paypal and Indians don't have good relation. I think Paypal has reasons for limiting and restricting their services. You can always paypal support and they will reply in 24 hours. I don't have any issue with paypal system.

I'm not Indian but I can understand your pain. They make everything so damn difficult in the name of "safety and security". Sounds a lot like the US govt. Just a bunch of red tape.

They're on a witch hunt. But AlertPay really sucks. I hope I can find another merchant and quick. Anybody reading this thread with some expertise would be wise to start something that rivals PayPal.

In my field i stick to Checks If your a business, need a service done, want me to do your branding then your going to write out a payment and mail it to me.

I like knowing who I do business with, having a name address, and communication is key when any money is EVERRRRR changing hands. With paypal you just signup and never know who your doing business with or what can happen to you if they have bad intentions.

When people pay out $1,000 $6,000 payments to me I want access to the cash without going through hoops. I still keep my money in a bank, like alot more people should do (or least buy assets to keep close).

PS: You want something better then paypal or alertpay...

Try Google Checkout or 2checkout.com
^_~ I accept payments from everywhere even bank deposits, i do business where my clients do business but i'll never let someone pay me $3,000 to do a service for them just so they can get there money back 89 days later lma0. Learned that lesson once, online payments are only good if you have a product. Just saying :p

I've been a loyal user of Paypal for personal accounts and finally when my directory 4 years ago was doing a brisk business,I graduated to a merchant account.

Now, however, I've gone to serve for my copywriting and review payments.

even e-cig merchants selling tobacco-less and nicotine free products simply because PayPal didn't want to associate with that business type.

I love paypal, for online processing, is good, fast and the most popular.
If you run a business on internet you will need other payment gateway than just paypal.

Many customers hate paypal and won't buy a service/good from you if you only have paypal for gateway payment.

I hate paypal, if you receive large payment or if your business grow in a short delay, paypal can hold a reserve in your account. Problem is not how many days they hold the payment, it's the amount they fixed in your reserve.

Paypal is decent

It makes payment exchanges done online easier, faster, and more secure.
Had been using paypal for years and luckily, no troubles for me yet. And best of all, it's free.

I get really nasty when I hear "PayPal" talks arising around me.

They do not work with my country and that's really annoying!

If I want to get smth from ebay or sites like that that are paypal connected I have to get a 300-600 km drive to NEIGHBOURING damned country like Poland(it's more or less okay, but I got to have visa) or Russia(demons and hell, THAT country is what I really don't like) just to get a forking credit card in one of their banks. And yeah, then I have to drive back. Nice way to get addicted to travelling, ow yah.

Formalities can be good. You would be equally upset if someone impersonated you and stole your money.

As far as customer support goes,
I called them just last night to ask a question and the person helped me just fine. Wasn't too impressed with the answer questions to get to a real person part (our local telephone company has the same system) but after that the whole thing took 3-5 mins total.

PayPal has to be strict with there policies because a lot of the time scammers send out fake PayPal support emails phishing for your account information.

PayPal has been good to me. Now if they could lower my APR that would be great.

We have used PayPal for many years now, but as you know they have two different services. One is for more basic users with lower transactions and the other one is costing $35, but you will need to get approved for it. If you happen to have the second option, you have the best online transaction service available.
