At a job site today... I walked around the corner and ran into "Mother Goose."

Her neck raised up as she hissed at me... scared me TO DEATH!
(luckily, nobody was around to see me jump and shriek like a little girl.)

4 more for the list

Already posted 9-bread and 5-dark. Posting today 3-wood, 8-peace, 10-animal, 13-service

One hundred and fifty years ago this week of April the peace of a nation was destroyed as the first rounds of the American civil war were fired at Fort Sumter, South Carolina. For 4 long bloody years brother would fight brother, father and son might be on different sides of the battle field. Before the final peace, America's deadliest war would claim 620,000 soldiers and an undetermined number of civilian casualties.

I wanted to offer a tribute to those Service men on both sides of that bloody war, to those who fell in nation's service before and after that war and to all the men and women who currently wear the uniform. Let us hope that all of the current Service people wind up in a place like this at a ripe old age and of natural causes. These men were not that fortunate. Quite a few are labeled unknown or perhaps unknown and the regiment. Service.jpg

Peace might require a little explaining. Those are my tax returns and quarterly payments, completed with much frustration after a 3.5 day ordeal. I had no peace for the the last 90 days just thinking about it. Now I do. If you think peace.jpg is weird wait until I upload joy.

I was in a quandary for what to do for animal then on our Sunday afternoon drive today I found these critters. Unfortunately I could not get close enough to get a great shot but I think you may recognize them. They are safe from me as long as cows live. animal.jpg

Wood is just because I like the grainy look of weathered, painted wood. Shot of and from my deck. wood.jpg

7. Pride - United States & Texas Flag

"And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?"

Backing off was a really good choice on your part. I think you would have lost the battle. Don't mess with Mama.

Hey that means your insurance is up to date and in good standing. Now if you start understanding their speaking we need to talk.

Joy:
When I see daffodils they look so bright and happy.

Peace:
Canadian Geese peacefully munching away on the grass (after they got use to the idea I was going to take their picture)

Pride:
This is an eagle's nest at Surrey Golf Club. Each year a pair of eagles return and proudly nest in their home.

Weather:
Dark cloud we thought was going to follow us around the golf course yesterday.

Wood:
Weeping willow branches look so delicate swaying in the wind.

Here is my entry for #Animal

This squirrel was starring at my nut (for you Muddy.) You can see the nut at the front of the picture. The little guy was debating whether it was safe to come grab it or not...

This for PRIDE. Our guide in Morocco showing off his aunts home and her skill in preparing mint tea the "proper way". Mint tea is the staple drink.

My submission for eye

You guys made an old man resort to using a thesaurus to come up with something different for this post. The primary definition of eye in the dictionary is the optic organ of a living creature. The thesaurus expands on that. Optic/optical fired a nexus in the old brain.

Considering the forum subsection and what we are collecting our treasures with the natural outcome was Eye of the Camera.

This is straight out of the camera, cropped only for size. The reflection in the lens is what the eye of the camera was seeing at the time. I would have gone back out and leveled the tripod holding the lens to even the horizon but darn it is hot out there this afternoon.
