Just for the record, Fox was right.

the real cost is the cost on humanity. all the financial numbers are arbitrary until they bankrupt the country.

examples of the government drugging me:

yup but last election they made the bogus call. if you think fox is not right wing propaganda that means then you have a rather limited or biased perspective of the world around you.

right...NPR is ok, legit financial news (like the Wall Street Journal or Financial Times are decent) and then BBC or other legit international sources are the best places for us to get our news from.

Thank you for making me laugh on this sad day of the Bush Wacker election. Bush is no idiot in the sense that he's got everyone where he wants them to be. He won't be the one dealing with the deficit, and if taxes are increased in his life time, he can surely pay for them without noticing his bottom line decline. He managed to convince people of a lot of backwards things (what does Iraq have to do with 911 besides nothing?), is mixing religion with politics, lied to the public about WMD, and has lead the biggest FUD campaign since M$ popped its head into the market, broke more international agreements than one can count, and declared everyone his enemy that doesn't agree with him: "with us or against us". Hitler and Bush in stereo. Yup, yup, yup.
Watch OutFoxed, or take a couple of journalism classes. Fox has broken every rule of journalism, and therefore is nothing more than a very dangerous gossip network. Dangerous because they make people believe that what they show is actually news when it is nothing more than propaganda for Bush (with statements like "only 192 days until president Bush gets re-elected" . WTF?) I can hear the Fox people laughing at anyone who actually takes them seriously. They are laughing while thinking "what a bunch of idiots to fall for this crap over and over again".

No problem, glad to do it. Dems need a good reason to laugh after a spanking like that.

@ evilregis
No, just a victory.
@Southnow
I wouldn't rub it in too hard, it's only politics.

I am just guessing but I think south was referring to not only Bush winning the electoral college vote but the popular vote with almost 4 million votes and the Republicans controlling the house and senate. Sounds more like a sweep than a spanking IMO.

Exactly.
I know it's bad form to make a "rub it in" comment like that, but I get really aggravated with the arrogance of some of these posts. The whole "if you don't think like I do that means your just ignorant sheep being led around in the dark". If you don't watch the channel I watch it means there are people in a back room laughing at your ignorance. It's really pretty pathetic and I guess a bit desperate after such a loss. I shouldn't let it get to me.
On a different note, I was impressed by how Kerry handled the loss. He conceded with grace, humility, and style. I don't like his politics, but quite a gentleman.

History has taught us (at least me anyway) that politics and religion don't mix. Too many wars for my liking.

Somehow I get the feeling that the revisions will not include toting a copy of the constitution to church with you on sunday.

Exulting in their electoral victories, President Bush's conservative supporters immediately turned to staking out mandates for an ambitious agenda of long-cherished goals, including privatizing Social Security, banning same-sex marriage, remaking the Supreme Court and overturning the court's decisions in support of abortion rights.
