I realize that the job is falling to the fittest, but, ...
I think that the US should rule the world. Seems somebody has got to before we all end up glowing.

I think that we need to hurry up and decide how we're going to save ourselves from extinction. I actually hate the one world government notion but I can't imagine another way.

Since you are so smart, please do a little history lesson. This fight started long before the US got involved. Also, study what the leaders of many of those nations have to say about the free world and their intentions.
For example, "a new Islamic revolution has arisen and the Islamic revolution of 1384 will, if God wills, ...The wave of Islamic revolution will soon reach the entire world."
Doesn't sound like a guy that is just gunning for the US.
Also,
Do you really think killing innocent people was justified for anything the US government might have done?
Sometimes I wonder if people today would have sat around on their hands and let Hitler kill a couple million more people.

NO, I don't know. And I have said so.
I also said that US foreign policies in the Middle East over the years are DIRECTLY responsible for what we are seeing now.
I am not excusing the terrorists' actions. But we have to realize that our policies have fostered the hatred that we are seeing now.
The so-called War of Terror can not be won by bombing people in the middle east. Even if we kill Bin Laden, there will be another Bin Laden tomorrow unless we take a hard look at our policies and correct them.
But the politicians in Washington are not willing to do so because that would mean that they would have to be more even-handed between the Israelis and the palestinians. And this would cost them elections. No politician in the US can get to higher office unless they swear allegiance to the State of Israel (this is a figure of speech, don't take it literally) and bend over to the Jewish Lobby (which is the MOST powerful lobby in Washington).
So we are in a dilemna:
Do what is right and risk loosing elections - or - Do what everyone has been doing and save your career ???

Also, for your info, the "war on terror" can NOT be won by killing people.
There isn't a finite number of terrorists that we can kill and solve the problem of terrorism.
No one is born a terrorist. But you become one.
Why do people become terrorist, that's the question that we have to ask. If it is our policies who create terrorists, then we, as a nation, need to rethink our policies in the middle east.
With our current policies in Iraq, we have to realize that the more people we kill, the more terrorists we create. For every dead person in the middle east, there are people (a brother, a friend, a son, a sister, a wife, or a parent) lining up to take revenge and create more havoc.
The war in Iraq was a mistake.

Very few people actually know who attacked us, and they ain't sayin' anything is what I think.
I don't know who they are or why they did it. I don't believe many do.

the only thing better I've seen on here so far is that guy calling Buskerdoo "dumb" several times... made himself look dumber.
EDITED: Oh WAIT... there was also the fact that US policy ALONE is the sole cause of terrorist activity around the world.
lemme find my violin...

all we really "know" is that they are members of the Al Queda group. Not only did they admit that, but BinLaden took personal credit for it. *shrugs*
Works for me.
Now let's just blow ourselves up so they can't do it for us
