Boohoo. Go smoke another blunt and sing kumbaya while you splurge all over Michael Moore's latest "documentary".

I live here. I walk down the street everyday without a problem. I don't have to fear my government. More than I can say about 90% of the countries out there. Stop acting like the world is ending. The US is no where near a police state.

The UK and USA are run by instilling a certain fear into the people.

Hell, we actually had a program on it in the UK that basically admitted that they both did this and no it wasn't by Mr. Moore

The government spin doctors use the news, the newspapers ect for this purpose.

Thats just my take though and I suppose that can lead to such a state in the future.

I'm about sick of coming into this forum and seeing a new thread everyday by people who do not even live in this country putting it down. It's pathetic.

I do not have a lot of experience with the USA, I will grant you that but I am mainly talking about the UK as this is something I do have experience in and they are pretty closely linked with how they do things -

As I remember well you had no problem with comments on Iraq and other countries while you don't even live there.

All the USA is doing all day is putting countries down while they disregard international laws that state that independent countries have the right to their own governments, what about that eh?

Reply = A lot of governments are less than honest otherwise they wouldn't be in power

but not every government is sacrificing 1000's of people because of lies.

Instead of becoming more civilised, the western countries have just found better ways of accomplishing their goals and lots of innocent people being wiped out in the process.

Ferre's original thread is about a police state system. My concern is more about how I am being lied to so as to achieve such a thing.

My concearn is to see a country that has more weapons than the rest of the world combined turning into a treath for not just other countries but also our planet, which is happening at present times.

The USA today is like a scared 6 years old child walking on a highstreet with a loaded bazooka, shooting at anything that moves.

Our dear member BamaStangGuy has a history of insulting people who don't agree with him, he actually is a fine example of how the US government is dealing with dissents too. No diplomacy, but "if you're not with us, you are against us." (and you will suffer the consequenses.)

well, I don't know, I didn't research him or tap his phone

but I do think that attacking you was way outta line....

I don't think the US is doing a really great job of things right now, and even I, who really tends to ignore things when possible, can see that things are not progressing in a positive way with our government. I have the overwelming feeling that I think a lot of people in the US have ... and that is the feeling that it is difficult to make any real change even when you SEE what is wrong.

It's funny but I just noticed that on our forums the pro bush people are usually young kids who know little about life, as soon as people have a little knowledge of history and real life you find less sympathy for Bush.
