With on Ferre, had the same debate with a friend a month ago. Making it illegal based on "grounds of morality" is a head in the sand approach. Sure, maybe it "feels good" to make it illegal, "it's the right thing to do". The reality is that making it illegal causes so many real life problems that "it feels good / it's the RIGHT thing to do" ain't any sort of justification for it.

I don't mean to come off like a square, I just think that prostitution is a sin. Like many other things. So I really can't stand up for it, even though I personally don't care what anybody does.

There's no doubt it's a sin...my only problem is the government regulating it by law. God Himself gave us free will. People choose right or wrong themselves.

Very good point. I guess it's a similar discussion like whether abortion should be legal or not.

Im of the opinion that its my body and I will do damn well as I please with it... If people want to sell themselves then let them, however as someone pointed out earlier it should be mae a little more discreet. None of this cars pulling up etc, designated areas much like canabis in Amsterdam.
And no im not a prostitute!

lol
I think that government control in this area could be an asset to society, but not by having it illegal.

Incidently, can someone explain to me the difference between a hooker and a call girl.. Call girls are legal even though many offer a similar service... Why is 1 okay and the other not?

I've never understood the "sting" operations you see portrayed on television here in the U.S. that go after the "johns" ...

There is a lot of that in Las Vegas. My neighbor got nabbed for that, when I lived in Las Vegas. He propositioned a hooker who happened to be a cop. They made him pay a fine and let him go.
I think they just treat it like a business. Las Vegas police dept makes mad money from those stings. Business, nothing more.
