You have no idea of how many of american prostitutes and "ready and willing." I'd venture to say 97.897% of american prostitutes are supporting a drug habit.

I dare say, not. I know many, used to hang out with strippers and prostitutes, and they were clean. The only habit they were supporting was an overwhelming love of money.

Of course, there are streetwalkers who are strung out and messed up, but even then it's their choice. Nobody put a gun to their head and told them to sell sex. Nope, in fact they are the ones out there in the street actively and aggressively looking for the "johns".

And yes, there are alternatives, which anybody can see plain as day, but they choose prostitution instead. "Choose" being the key word.

Not sure of your point, but we all make "choices" each day. Many MANY hookers have nasty drug habits, John, or they would NOT be selling their bodies. It's quick money.

So? That does not mean they were forced into it. By your logic, I'm forced into Internet marketing, by my addiction to money. If it weren't for my need to live nicely, I'd be working half days as a ski instructor.

Technically they aren't being forced, no, however what other "occupation" is going to tolerate the irrational behavior that usually goes hand in hand with drug addiction?

You could've chosen a different career, as I'm sure many other types of career would've tolerated your behavior/skillset....errr scratch that.

The laws our country makes are, ideally, the laws we the citizens of said country want in place to uphold the beliefs of our culture. Maintaining that culture should be the focus of any law we pass.

In a tribe of cannibals, it wouldn't make sense to make illegal the killing of a human since that is part of their culture.

But just because we may have some cannibals living in the US, we shouldn't pass a law allowing them to kill people if it goes to much against what our core beliefs are.

That's a crude analogy, but I hope it made my point.
