The article linked at the beginning of the thread was so full of half truths and lies and spin it's a miracle anyone could believe any of it.

If one were to look at honest facts and honest statistics how bad would the US be? Especially compared to all those other countries run by angels? How hated are we really? I think we are hated more in the minds of certain US citizens than in reality.

The rhetoric about our evil leader can be recognized as ridiculous as soon as you look at some real evil leaders in other parts of the world.

We air our dirty laundry in public (full of exagerated and made-up stains) and then wonder why others believe it. If you are a proud citizen of the USA then keep your political arguments civilized and get your political leaders to keep their public statements civilized too.

Our internal PR wars are the major cause of whatever poor world image actually exists. PR is a powerful weapon. The republicans lost the majority in the last election. The biggest factor was the incessant bashing of the President and the war. If the debate had been kept civilized and honest the election would have been very different. So we learn that the Democrats played their cards right and won the political battle. But this has gone a long way toward damaging the war on terror and has created some hatred of us overseas as well. Is it worth it to win an election but lose the country?

The US 'PR' doesn't mean anything for most of the world dude, their actions speak louder than words, it's their actions that make them unpopular, no PR can change that, the world is not filled with idiots that don't know what's going on in the world.

WHO are you anyway? You register here and start commenting in the political forums like a rabbit on speed without introducing yourself, replying to old posts, is that a sign of good manners where you come from? I see no website in your profile, and you seem to only have interest in spreading pro Bush administration statements, this is a webmaster forum, and a community, in case you didn't notice. You sound like some government troll and I will not debate with you, learn some manners first, and show me your website, our introduction forums are here.

I would expect that a newbie would be given a modest amount of grace. I will read the introduction forum tomorrow.

Who I am should not be as relevant as what I say. A reasoned debate should be evaluated by the readers on the merits of the strength of what we have to say.

I have read your posts and, frankly, I'm surprised you mention manners as calling so so many stupid is hardly good manners.

I did not come into this forum through the home page so I have been ignorant. I was able to get to the introduction forum today after all. I saw no discussion of what proper manners are on this site. I did see some rules. Btw, profanity is against the rules.

It does appear that this forum is only for those who have websites elsewhere. Since I do not have a website I will go to one of the many other forums out there.

I have plenty of interests other than my conservative point of view. In time you would have figured that out.

Ferre, You strike me as an angry person with an axe to grind and it interferes with the reception your message might otherwise get. I wish you the best.

I do not work for the government. And while I don't trust the government blindly I am obviously not on the complete other end of the spectrum like you appear to be.
