If some country invaded us, I'd gladly accept the help of other nations if they offered it up.

In fact I was laughing at the new "jeremy clarkson video".. he was over there.. asking the general public how many European contries they thought there was.... and you need to hear the replies to believe it...two of them thought Austrialia was in Europe..

I can't speak for the rest of America, but I have been out of the country, but never to Europe. I've been to Asia, Canada, the Islands. My husband has traveled a large part of Europe by car, stopping in many Countries and he enjoyed it.

I have a passport as well as my Husband and our children.

As far as travel however, many countries are not the size of the United States, you could travel extensively and it would take many many years to cover every mile of this country. I feel like I've traveled plenty in my 45+ years as a child and more now than ever and I still have roughly 20 states left to visit in my lifetime, and then that doesnt include hitting all the cities or attractions in those states. My husband has traveled more than anyone I know and he has about 10 states he hasnt covered yet.

Thats why we bought the RV, to travel and hit the states we've missed, although we know we won't be able to see everything in every state, we can at least say we've been there once. And those we like, we'll go back and see again. Ask anyone from Texas it takes over a day just to drive that state alone.

As far as the show you mentioned, I'm not denying there are dummies here, but EVERY country has ignorant pompous asses, not just America !

Of course this is just my opinion.

I do have to agree with RobS on one point, everytime our President opens his mouth to speak, I cringe !! He is an awful public speaker, but that doesn't mean he isn't intelligent.

I seen people who can't read or do math, who are very smooth talkers, they went to the school of hard knocks or just learned from living. And how exactly do you measure intelligence ?? An IQ test ? Level of education ?? How a person speaks ??

My father never finished grade school because of financial hardships and the depression era, however, he had more common sense then most people I know. He didn't know algebra or physics, but could fix things in the house, fix the car, pay the bills, buy a home, have a career, provide for his family, but was he dumb because he had no degree, NO he wasn't.

I also know people with college degrees with no common sense at all, and have to be led by the hand to accomplish simply daily living issues, but they must be smart because they have a degree and maybe score well on tests !!

It's all in the eyes of the beholder if you ask me, again just my opinion

Now look at Bush jr. That's a huge problem with politics in general and one of the reasons I get so mad at the stupidity reflected in peoples actions in electing the same people time after time. Things needs to change but those in power won't allow it to happen.

The USA is a bancrupt nation that only survives with keeping the world in a state of war, REAL powerful nations have no need for that. When they want oil, they buy it, and when they want to do business they trade.

America is not the most powerful nation, they do have more weapons than the rest of the world combined but what they forget is that the day will be there very soon that they can not man those weapons. Already they have difficulties finding the numbers of troops to fight their wars, half of the troops employed in countries that the USA is fighting in are mercenaries and to get those is more and more difficult.

America is bleeding itself to death, the administration knows this and it explains their desperate actions to get other nation's resources. Ask the super-rich Americans like Bill Gates and the like why they are dumping their stocks at present times.
