Obama, Cocaine, Muslims, and the presidency...
This is really starting to piss me off. I keep seeing videos posted on youtube where Fox & Friends keeps tearing this guy down making a huge deal that the guy was raised a Muslim by his father, and the fact that he did drugs when he was young. I can see that this guy, who seems a positive guy, is going to be torn to shreds by the media.
George Bush was an alcoholic, but you don't see them tearing him down over his past. On the Muslim thing, aren't we supposed to be a nation that respects religious diversity?
I know I am rambling here, it's just so confusing to me the mess the media makes of things.
Edit: Oh yea, and they keep pushing that his middle name is hussein!! Who freakin' cares?

That's what you get when you run for any kind of political office, and especially the presidency.

Muslims have declared a jihad on America and you don't think it's appropriate for Americans to know that a presidential candidate has muslim roots? A great deal of Americans "freakin' care". How can you not? Even if you don't hold it against him, how can you argue that people shouldn't be given that information?
Plus, like Julie said....when you run for office you become glass. Everything's going to be dug up right down to who you slept with after the prom. That's not new. Candidates know what they're getting into.

"Muslims have declared a jihad on America"
No they haven't but thanx for playing. Unless of course suddenly Bin Laden and his ilk represent all muslims.
GWB was an alcoholic and coke fiend yet no one attacked him in the same way.

I did and GWB's obvious cocaine problem was scarcely mentioned.

If it was "obvious" it wouldn't be "scarcely" mentioned.

If you want to play naive for yourself, fine....but what I said still stands. Americans have the right to know that and media has the responsibility to report it.

What planet were you living on during the last election cycle? Bush was crucified for drugs, military service, school attendance, and even had stories reported as fact that were later found to have no substance.
I could care less what substance abuse problems Bush, Obama or anybody else has so long as they've beaten the addiction. What I and most clear thinking Americans do care about is a candidates affiliation with a militant, outspoken, anti-American religion that has expressed violent tendancies against America both verbally and physically. "Not every Muslim is like that" doesn't really cut it.

Obvious to anyone that knew GWB in the 70s. Look it was the 70s and people thought cocaine was like a super vitamin. GWB has always given the "I did stupid things in my youth" answer to the cocaine question as opposed to Obama who is pretty explicit about his mistakes.

Actually since there are a BILLION muslims in the world we had better hope they all don't believe the same things as Bin Laden. Furthermore it was predominately Muslim school in the 60s, not a Wahhabist maddrass. Once again the inability not to understand the various strains of Islamic thought is shown to be a problem. You clearly don't know much about Islam.

You clearly are unaware of what is happening over in Iraq, Afghanistan, and many other middle eastern countries where Muslims are blowing themselves up in the name of their religion.
Christianity has shown it's bloodshed in the past, but currently the fact that Muslims are carrying out suicide missions with no regard to human life is clearly a concern to the rest of the world.

What? How am I unaware? Given that two of my brothers have served in Iraq - I am fairly certain I know more about what is going in country than you do. Why aren't you talking about the Tamil Tigers or the Lord's Resistence Army? Do you even which sect of Islam Al - Queda is? It's like looking at the IRA in Northern Ireland and concluding that "Christians support terrorism."

If you had said "some" there that would be more accurate. Furthermore almost all bombings in Iraq and Afghanistatn aren't suicide bombings - they tend to be car bombs and IEDs. You know what modern terrorist organization invented the suicide bomber right?

My lord, we agree on something. It's gotten totally out of hand. Fewer and fewer issues, more and more kindergaden name-calling.

That stophernow site is too rich. It's filled with faux Soviet/communist symbolism - as though Hillary Clinton is the 5th International! Pretty funny.

Steal their oil? Iraq isn't even the biggest importer for oil to the US.
Get your facts straight Ferre.
It'd be better for us to invade Canada if we were going strictly for oil.

You keep cracking me up, you telling me that the US has no interest in Iraqi oil?

Why yes. That's why the only Iraqi ministry US troops defended was the Oil Ministry - no interest in oil. How about that new oil development contract we had the Iraqis sign? The most generous terms on the planet to oil companies.
