Fox News (If they are considered news any more) liars....
www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTzuql4jROo
This is crazy. They LIE about Obama trying to tear him down. Nice.
Aren't there laws against this kinda crap anymore? It's pretty obvious what they're doing...
Edit: I don't mean to direct you to another site for the story, but you really must watch the news cast to understand. Total crap. They never would have retracted if they weren't investigated.

Keith Olbermann now refers to them as the Fox Nothing Channel because he says they shouldn't be allowed to use the word "news".
I occassionally turn it on just to see what the nutjobs over there are doing, but within minutes they scare me away.

If you want unbiased news then don't turn to anything mainstream because they're only there for your money. Fear sells.

Yea, but you can't ignore the mainstream either. You have be aware of all of them. Like, you need to know what they're up to (because some people do take their word as gospel)

Of course. It's pretty much impossible to ignore because of the power idiots give them, but very possible to not listen to.

Which politician has not been lied about? Is this new? Democrats lie about Republicans, and Republicans lie about Democrats.
Old news.

Anyone watch Aljazeera News? I really like the program "Witness" It is a mainstream company, I mean they are all over the world, but I think their news is rather good. They work very hard to tell compelling stories that include all different perspectives. Agree, disagree?

It seems tha the smears against Sen. Obama originally started with some guy named martin and were most recently re-started by Rev. Sun Yung Moon's website. (sp?) Obviously no news outlet should have reported it as fact.
Can anyone provide some quotes or links about what Fox news did or didn't do?
It does seem that Sen Clinton is not responsible here. However, it is CNN that did not put their best foot forward in their video. They were obviously enamored with the "Rock star" Sen Obama and seemed more interested in doubting the credibility of Fox (their competition) more than anything else.
The news media need to finally be held to a high standard of ethics and journalism. They cannot be biased in their reporting and they must fully disclose all the facts without shading the truth. Our democracy is dependent on a free (and honest) media. Without it we will all suffer.

Not only Aljazeera is showing both sides in news stories, most European news does that, like the BBC, German news, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, etc. In fact, you will find that only a few news outlets are totally biased and we all know that the General Electric/Disney/Murdoch owned news is totally corrupted and one-sided. But, they are big in America. Outside America, hardly anyone takes their news serious. They are way too obvious and often just plain pathetic.

You know what is really interesting. Watching American coverage of the war, and then watching foreign coverage - ie. through aljazeera, bbc, etc. I never knew this until I watched it. But even just the pictures and sounds that the non-US channels show is completely different....its much more real. The American images/sounds are much more detached...sounds are muffled and things are way off in the distance. In the foreign ones you can hear the explosions and see what the heck is going on.

You should try and watch Belgian news, they are one of the most neutral news agencies in the world, they also have laws that prohibit advertisements in their public funded broadcast companies because that could promote conflicts of interest.

I watch it online, you can only get 15 minutes at a time with the free version. But all you gotta do is hit play again and you can continue watching it. Aljezeera has been available in the USA for a while, but no one will pick it up. That should say something about America, especially when you watch Aljezeera. In our news we get pummeled by US Troop death toll of that day, but what about other deaths besides Americans. How many were insurgents? How many were civilian Iraqis? Aljezeera tells you those figures, the US news rarely does unless it looks good for our side. The only "news" programs I will watch is like local weather and maybe Dateline once in a while, otherwise it isn't worth my time. I learned more about the war in 1 day watching Aljezeera than I had learned through months and even years of watching US news. That, is just sad.

Certain people (small by comparison) dislike Fox News because it's about the only US based news without a harsh liberal bias. You'll enjoy it more by learning the difference between a news program and a commentary program. Since it can't be discredited by ratings (still at the top) Libs brand it a non-news channel. "Oooo, if you watch Fox you're dumb. Oooo."
"Keith Olbermann now refers to them as the Fox Nothing Channel" Perfect example. Fox makes it very clear which segments are news and which are opinion.
The "Oooh dumb" people are those who limit themselves to one or two sources for news, or completely discredit others. You don't like Fox and want to make bad jokes about it, fine. Cut yourself off from it and you limit yourself. I follow many of the links posted here as "news" sources and know without a doubt that a large percentage of them are total horses#@t, but I'll often remember and visit them. It's good to know what the loons are thinking.
I get my news each morning from around the world. Same stories, different points of view.
