I think that some people get too fanatical about their religion. Even in Islam the laws are interpreted way to strictly by the so-called "leaders". Situations like this can't be what the prophet Muhammed had in mind. Remember, his wife was a christian and prior to his teachings, he and his wife basically followed christian principles. A great deal of these fanatical acts are just men with ego problems whom suppress the weak and powerless.
True islam teaches forgiveness, humanity and mercy. True muslims do not fly planes into buildings or explode themselves on public buses.
