Paedophile
Did anyone see that paedophile on the O'Reilly factor the other night? He had setup a website offering tips on how to build relationships with young boys and girls as young as three. The site has only just been shut down after 2 years and apparently the authorities cannot arrest this guy because he has never actually committed a crime.
Any suggestions on what should be done about this low life scum?

Exposing them is the first step, IMHO.

Agree with John Scott. Expose them, punish them, and make others feel like they'll get caught and exposed if they attempt the same thing.

I hope none of you boys who are so violent in your ways to take care of pedophiles encourage drooling over those teenaged entertainers and such.

Surely you are not suggesting that a man who looks at a 16 or 17 year old who shakes her booty on tv to that kind of scum who terrorizes young children... As far as drooling, I am 40, married, with two children. I have no energy to drool

no I'm not, however, that is what breeds this type of behavior sociologically IMO

I think there is a big (huge) difference between a pedophile and a guy who is sexually aroused by a sexually arousing 18 year old. Pedophile = a person, man or woman, who likes children. 18 isn't a child. 10 years old is a child. 12 is a child. 14 is a child. 16 is pushing it, as far as maturity of the female body goes.

Luckily the law isn't made around your version of what a child is, John.

Seems that I am a bit more conservative than the law.

It seems this isn't the first time we've had this same argument. My point is simple - we as a society flaunt little girls as sexual objects, then wonder why there are so many sickos wanting to meet our children when we aren't home. They go hand in hand.

We do? My daughter is 14 and she cannot wear make up yet. If it's up to me she won't wear make up till she's 17 or 18.

I didn't say YOU, I said society. Surely you don't disagree with that.

I can't say that I ever noticed society in general flaunting under aged girls. When I was in school, there were a few girls who liked to flaunt their own sexuality, but they did so mostly by having sex, rather than dressing sexily. Maybe young kids these days are different, but I've not been in the US for a couple years so I can't say.

kristeejo, I don't disagree with your basic premise. The part I find thoroughly confusing is that the one's that appear to be most responsible for the really young ones ( 6 - 10 years old) being flaunted in make up, high end clothes, contests, modelling, etc. seem to be the moms. I don't get that. The articles, news and shows I've seen or read that talk about this almost always have a mother in the wings putting on the makeup, doing the hair, picking out outfits. Is that a vicarious thing or something else. It definitely puzzles me.
