I also agree that it's kinda early for Obama. IMO he's burning his chance. He should build up some more experience and actually show what the heck he stands for. For now I have an impression that his platforms and views are custom made only recently just because a presidential candidate is supposed to have a platform and views.
|
Maybe...but having someone as yet uncorrupted (more or less) by the system may be exactly what we need right now. Keep in mind, it's the president's staff that does most of the thinking and decision-making. The prez needs to be able to inspire confidence in the people. While Bush doesn't inspire confidence in many of us, he did give enough people peace of mind to get elected.....twice
If Obama's people are good, his inexperience is moot.

The poll is a bit skewed on the Republican side, Mccain isn't really a good candidate. Mitt Romney would have been a better choice against Rudy.

Such a shame we are 4 pages into this thread, otherwise I would suggest adding in a [i]none of the above[i] choice, and of course John Scott
Obama is kind of slimey, the only reason he is being pushed is the fact that we haven't had the time to dig up his past. The press likes him, and really is basically squashing his land transactions.
Hillary. Didn't like her when she ran her husbands presidency. Don't like her BS posturing against the war- she voted for it. period. Have the integrity to say you made a mistake, and not try to duck away from it.
If either one of them loses, rest assured that the supreme court is going to have hearings on the fact that the American people are discriminating against hem

I think John Scott's position in cabinet would be better served as Treasury Secretary

This poll is just like the voting booth.
NONE of the above isn't on the ballot.

I disagree. You can have a blank ballot counted, and th write-ins are tallied

If Hillary was elected we'd be hosed on alot of foreign policy issues, especially when it comes to trade etc. Not because of political charges or inability, but because she has mammaries. I would assume (maybe incorrectly) that certain nations wouldn't take a liking to dealing with a woman prez. I think it's not really an issue so much in the US anymore, but some other countries really don't respect women much...
suppose now is a good time for the disclaimer...I'm wrong pretty much all the time when it comes to mostly everything

You actually bring up a good point. I would be interesting to see how a some of these countries react to a woman president.

Its looking the next president will most likely be fluent in spanish!
As for the countries that don't respect women... they're the same ones that don't respect the US now and we shouldn't concern ourselves with countries that haven't made it out of the dark age. (Don't get me wrong - I do NOT respect Hillary! It's due to her politics and her feelings towards our military, not because she's a woman).
