Is it my stupidity or did the post disappear from abcnews's website? The US government probably isn't happy they reported that story.
John, you may be getting a call from the US government ordering you to remove this post.
Thats good old Bush for you.

I'm sorry, the story is on the main page, but for some reason clicking on that link does not produce the story.

Our media isn't retarded ... they have been hand-fed that material by the Bush Administration. This is part of the current effort to "do something" about Iran. While the Administration can't actually do anything, they release crap like that so we'll think they're doing something, and get off their backs.
It's a major, punishable-by-death felony (treason) to release true State Secrets to the public.
Being a retarded reporter won't help you get out of that one ...
(BTW: I believe they prefer to be called "reality-challenged", not "retarded" ...)

No, that's being retarded. The problem is that there are no consequences for falsifying material or just taking bits of pieces, adding some pizazz, and slapping an Anonymity quote to it.
The liberal media just likes to spin.

Now why would the "liberal" (read: left-wing) media publish propaganda fed to them by the "conservative" (read: right-wing) Administration?
Maybe they actually are retarded!
Either that, or you've sadly swallowed whole previous Administration propaganda that branded the entire media industry with a whitewashed "liberal" tag.
In this case, ABC is absolutely the right-wing's lap dog. Nothing "liberal" about it.

First thing I thought of when hearing this.
Now they'll just know to be extra careful about who they give information to.

It's not unrealistic to think that someone inside the administration, perhaps some one on the senate intelligence committee, leaked the news to reporters in hopes that the publicity would put a damper on the plan. It's not the first time it's happened.

Definitely someone with an agenda "leaked" the news. There is little hard-core investigative reporting going on today.
And I'm sick of the whole "liberal" media spin -- the media isn't liberal or conservative. They are entertainers who simply pass on whatever the latest spin is and couldn't question a waitress about today's special if it wasn't printed on a card.
Not that I'm bitter or anything...
