Yes the UK has some lovely beaches and it is a beautiful island, Mauritius isn't too bad either.
Home is where the heart is and my heart is firmly in the UK. I don't call Mauritius 'my country' any more, but there is a fondness for it in my heart. I still think of it as paradise, the key to the Indian Ocean.

We have our same culture shocks in the east, west, north and south in America.
I have had several in-laws that were from England and were all fine people.

When you coming and will you be getting the chance to travel this fair land?
Bit of a hubbub at the moment with a bunch of naughty, naughty people calling themselves terrorist, but we tend not to let them get in the way of a good time. They seem more determined to kill themselves rather than anyone else at the moment.

Pity you won't have much time to look around. Most important is sorting out your accommodation, sooner is better, else the best places get snapped up by all the other students, unless you are going into halls of residence.
You might need some questions answering about life over here. So fire away, maybe in a new thread.
As a first hint, 'fall' over here is autumn.

I'm going into residence, for sure.
And I'm fine without you hints - thanks.

What do I think of Britain? Well, I don't think I could justify having a King or Queen. I think Charles made a huge mistake by not following his heart to begin with instead of dragging beloved Lady Di into the mud. Lady Di was a great lady and she's sorely missed by many in the states. I enjoy British tea and Lady Sovereign. I wish the pound was more in line with the dollar.

The King and Queen thing is over-emphasised, methinks. In the UK, we're sort of 50-50 on the concept of royalty. I'm loosely pro-royalty, myself. But we're very big on tradition as well, and getting rid of the monarchy would muck up a hell of a lot of tradition.
