over the last 3 month there were some really shocking cases in germany, where children were actually starving to death, because the parents did not take care of them. imagine: a "family" mother - father - and a child, living in an apartment block and the child dies on starvation. and this did not happen once but 4 times in the last three months.
out of these 4 cases, in 3 of them the father was actually a felon, the fourth had never any problems with the police.
so, if there would be a general rule - no parental rights for felons - at least three of these children would still be alive.
the case which is found at the link you provided...... the guy was in prison for sexual assault on two teenage girls!!! so, hell yeah - he should never be allowed near anybody below his own age.

Maybe they should keep the kid away from the father.... I'm not sure of the extent of his history, so I can't really say. But for sure the mother should at least be allowed to have her own kids! She didn't do anything wrong. How can they keep them from her, especially if she doesn't live with the husband??

I didn't get that either. I couldn't see why she was in the wrong.

I don't see why the guy was targeted. The are millions of parents with prior criminal histories that make fine parents. Why are the bringing up something that happened 20 years ago?

Dad's a convicted sex offender, definite alarm bells there, there's a little more to that than being an ex-convict right? - I mean if you've been put away for mugging there's not really any chance you're going to mug your own child is there? They'd have nothing worth taking for one thing. But then again, conviction for sexual assault doesn't necessarily mean you're a kiddie-fiddler - it's just there's a much bigger stigma attached, it's a huge no-no.
However, it seems that dad's foibles aside, mum is a hooker who uses meths and coke.
Seems to me like the kid here is well shot of the pair of them. But I do know that being taken into care, the kid is likely to come out effed-up anyway. No winners here.

20 years ago, though. I don't see why they are taking the kid now. Has he done wrong in the last 20 years? If so, arrest him. If not, leave him alone.

That is a little strange. I could see doing something about it if it just happened within last couple years but 20 years ago is a long time to go back. I'm sure most of us would be embarassed about things we did 20 years ago. Not saying we did what he did but I'm fairly certain there are things we did 20 years ago that we would not even think about doing.
