Canada's annual seal hunt
Over 300K seals killed. What is it with these canucks
http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/yearlyhunt
Canada's annual seal hunt is the largest slaughter of marine animals on Earth. Last year, more than 330,000 baby harp seals were beaten to death so that they could be made into fur coats, collars, and cuffs. The Canadian government claims that hunters only kill adult seals, but 97 percent of the seals killed last year were less than 3 months of age.
The above link is one side in the seals favor. I had know Idea that they killed that many baby seals in canada. They always look so cute in a stuffed animal form.

I don't like hunting, but if is the only way you can eat yes.
Many Eskimos need to hunt to survive, but this example is a mass hunting that should not take place.

Ya I love the *Canada's* seal hunt. Like every cauckian with a bear and tuque is running around stomping seals...

Damnit, I'm torn. I wanted to abort some babies this weekend, but now I'm leaning towards clubbing a few seals.
Society must be whack to have such an obscene set of priorities.

I think there is far too much life on this small planet. We should kill everything that cannot be farmed for food or fur. In fact, people who do not play an active and productive part in society by the age of thirty should be put down and rendered as animal feed.
Actually I don't believe any of that, but if it sounded reasonable to you then you got a problem.
Would we eat lamb if it was renamed baby sheep? Just a random thought.

I think there is no problem in doing so as long as the seals are used for some or the other purpose but hunting
them just for fun or as a sport is simply not alright. Only precaution which should be taken here is the hunters should spare the seals which don’t come under the adult category and there should be a fixed quota for every hunter to hunt them.
