Has U.S. Foreign Policy Changed?

That seems to be the argument attempting to be made by "some". Has U.S. Foreign Policy when dealing with terrorists or countries that support acts seen as unacceptable changed since Reagan? Or did President Bush completely change the policy once he took office?

Ah, you may not know this but Reagan is dead. When you mention US Foreign Policy, that covers a broad scope. I seem to remember reading in another book I cherish, "We step on the toes of our fellows and they retaliate. Sometimes they hurt us, seemingly without provocation, but we invariably find that at some time in the past we have made decisions based on self which later placed us in a position to be hurt".

Hmm...well the reason I stopped at Reagan is because my memory doesn't fair well before that. We all know how well Carter did without using strength though, when he tried he had weakened it so much it wasn't there and only did so to try and save face. It's a proven fact that if you show weakness you will be taken advantage of, we all learn that in grade school by the bullies there. At the same time the argument you make is a valid one if you want to be an isolated type state and you don't have to worry about what is going on any where else. Unfortunately this isn't the 1800's and technology has us at a level of danger regardless of what we do. The argument that extremists won't target us as long as we stay out of their political interests isn't true, as the interpretation of what they follow demands domination of the infedels. Actually to be correct

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that because the book says it that all Muslims enforce or follow this, Christians have the old testament that says many things this same way but it's not followed. However there are many extremists in the Muslim world that are attempting to follow it to their perverted interpretation and regardless your behavior will be coming simply because you behave and believe differently than they do and as I said with technology what it is, it's not a world of separatists any more. It doesn't take months to cross the oceans, it doesn't take days, weeks or months to communicate with people around the world any more. And not all communication is tappable and traceable. So if Foreign Policy has changed for the more forceful hasn't it had to grow up to the times? Once you reach a plateau you can't turn back so to say. Obama would have us turn back I'm afraid, Pelosi would have us turn back I'm afraid, Harry Reid would have us turn back I'm afraid.........etc....not all democrats I'm sure, but with who's in charge of the Democratic party, doesn't really matter what the other democrats in office think at the moment most of the time.

Of course, foreign politics of U.S. has changed in its basics during the Bush's presidency. It was determined by 11.09.2001. But, despite of reasons, the changes is very sad - the Guantanamo, secret jails of CIA in Eastern Europe, Ships made as jails all over the world.. The tortures ... The basics of american democracy was destroyed. That's sad, my friend, that's really sad.

What's really sad, is the position of people that lack intelligence to think on their own apparently like you. That have cost so many their lives without appreciation. That have cost so many their freedoms without realizations or care. And that continue to believe and promote propoganda with absolutely no foundation of fact. Or sight beyond that of those that want to kill you attempt to instill in you.
