Are you ready for the holiday season?

All of us no matter where we are have some holiday coming up in the next month. Are you ready for it?

Here in the states we have Christmas and new years. What's yours?

tiyoo 12-08-2015 02:27 PM

I am not ready for the long drive I have to take for Christmas :-(

So I am driving from:

Raleigh, NC to Dallas, TX
Dallas, TX to Austin, TX
Austin, TX to Houston, TX
Houston, TX back to Dallas, TX (Might be driving to San Antonio for a day for the Alamo Bowl...not sure yet)
Dallas, TX to Raleigh, NC

I sure don't envy you that trip.

tiyoo 12-08-2015 02:30 PM

Nope, at least we are renting a nice car, but I plan on doing the long parts in one trip if possible...oh and I will have a dog with me the whole time :-(

Price of being in a relationship with someone who has divorced parents I guess...gonna be pretty crazy

We have Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years Eve. Not ready at all. Haven't even started!

Our turn for the big Xmas eve dinner this year, and then down to the parents for Xmas day dinner. I'd say at least 80% of our presents are bought online now. I think the neighbors are doing much the same as there's been a steady stream of UPS trucks on our block the last week or so.

My dog always whines until the first stop. When it;s not the vet he calms down. Good luck.

Yea, I moved out here from Texas and had two cats as with me as well...you want to talk about whining...it was soooooo bad. One of the cats has this deep pitch when it really wails...hurts the ears sooo much..which is not the best when actually driving. I just hope the weather holds up.

I am ready for the New Year's eve. :) I am very excited about this new year and will go to some place with friends and have fun. Yooohoooo :D

johnywalter 12-14-2015 07:59 PM

we have christmas and new years as well and yes I am so ready to be away from work for a couple of days and spend time with friends and relatives I haven't seen in ages.

will have to do a long drive as well but it would only be for 6 to 8 hours. shouldn't feel that long if you have your family in the car with you.

ScorpioXIII 12-15-2015 02:59 AM

I can't wait for the holidays! Spending some quality time with my family and friends is just what I need. :)

I'm also in the states and celebrate Christmas and New Years. So far, I have about 90% of my Christmas shopping complete. I'll have to finish the rest this weekend which for me in pretty last minute, wish me luck!

ScriptMan 12-15-2015 06:45 AM

Long drives with children can be challenging. Are we there yet? When will we be there? I have to pee! I'm hungry.

The shopping thing can be a challenge also.

Best wishes for all of you.

I'm going to eat more than most Americans this Christmas, I am prepared.

callncallpest 12-15-2015 08:45 AM

Yes i am always ready for the holiday in new year and Christmas we are going to the Dubai.

HCFGrizzly 12-15-2015 02:36 PM

I don`t think I`m ready for the holidays this year, I`m not even eager that they are coming. It seems that every year the Xmas feeling is fading away.
Oh well, it will come back after I stuff my face with some chocolate cookies.

I have 1 years old twins stay are just starting to walk and I'm really wondering if I should put a Christmas tree in the house. I don't really have a room where I can put it and still be monster proof. Any suggestions?

ScriptMan 12-18-2015 05:30 AM

Buy a short one and do the tabletop version. As empty nesters we even leave the lights on the tree when it is stored it in the box off season.

Sweet_P 12-18-2015 09:32 AM

We have a small Christmas tree that dances and signs with flashing light. It's great to get the kids attention when they start crying or whining. They really love it.

I guess the small table top version will be necessary soon it we want Santa to drop present for our 4 years old boy

I am busy in collecting Christmas dinner recopies . I will make rich dishes for my friends.
