Backlinks Not Helping My Website Gain Ranking. What to Do?

I have a website whose ranking has been getting lower after the Google update that happened in March 2018. I have been trying to improve it by creating numerous backlinks on the site but it hasn't made any difference to the ranking. I have also checked the on page issues numerous times but i am still not able to figure out the problem. What should i do?

First question - are that high quality links? Or a forum/comments ? Have you tried to write guestposts?

What about creating content to your site?

I'm watching "Income school" on facebook, they recommend to focus mostly on creating content on your site instead linking to it.

Then your backlinks suck.

Hello,

First Content is a king. You need to check your content quality. It should be unique and informative.
1. Then Promote the content on social media platforms like linkedin, facebook and many blogging platforms.
2. Do guest posting in high domain authority sites.
3. Try to participate in on quora.
4. Try Info graphic submissions.

This activities are really effective.

I have faced this issue several times. Sometimes, the ranking of my website has dropped. I normally update the content and the meta tags of my website. So, you can also do the same for your website!

Could You Check My Website?

Re-read what @Birdie posted.

I checked out your site at ahrefs.
I see an increased ahrefs rank in avg 3 months (your site went up in about 597,079 positions).
Since about 17 April i see a decreased number in referring pages. You lost about 450 referring pages to your website.
Ahrefs shows me that you have about 179 different websites (not webpages) that have backlinks to your site.

I read somewhere that google started to "punish" sites that use a pop-ups. You have this "Enquire Now for Best Chardham Yatra". Check this info, it might be something that drags your site down.

Your site looks outdated.

There are problems with the mobile version of this site. Google pays much more attention to it that it used in the past. fix it.

Seoptimer says that you should reduce your total page file size:

Hope it helps.

Like I said above; your backlinks suck.

I agree with the content suggestion, build more and more content. Seek out related sites to get your back links from. Answer the questions those in your niche are asking!

Yes, I also want to know about it in details, But Sometimes i am thinking backlink is not enough for better ranking, I think quality content & social networking are also potential factors.

Focus on content, good links will come along then after a few years people will reach out your blog and ask for a link trade.

Keep an eye on people trying to make bad links to your site via semrush!

As per my opinion, your backlinks are not indexed that cause Google did not rank your website. Try to build natural backlinks and first focus on Low competition keyword to rank

Numerous backlinks!!!

First of all backlink count doesn't get counted at all. What does get counted is their quality.

And backlinks from guest post which are of low quality and from the pages which Google doesn't even care about arn't going to help you.

Coming to PBN's or Web 2.0 sites you can't just go blasting those links. Authority has to come from somewhere. Low quality PBNs and web 2.0 sites better do damage then good.

alexjames212 07-18-2018 08:24 PM

Do not focus all your energy on backlinks. Seems like you are trying hard to build links. The strategy should be to earn the links not to build them. Try and publish informative content around the keywords that you are planning to rank for. It is ideal to perform a competitor research and excel the piece of content they have on pertinent keywords.

Digvijay singh 09-26-2018 09:39 AM

Check whether your backlinks are indexed or not? and if not then make web 2.0's and make them indexed on Google.

Maybe that's because your spam backlinks are NOT what get rankings... High quality content does.

Do you really have quality and informative content that people are eager to read and share ?
