Can I increase upload file size on GoDaddy shared hosting?

I have been trying to increase the upload limit size by making using methods like adding this code in "upload_max_filesize = 128M" in .htaccess but not works, also tried with php.ini, but no result. Is there any other recommended methods to get that? or should i need to contact support. I may not contact them because i think it is not recommended by godaddy to increase upload size, is it true?

The changes if allowed are best done in the php.ini not .htaccess.

You probably need to increase max post size and max memory also. And, Perhaps even max execution time to really get it to work.

AllowOverride needs to be set to ALL for you to be able to make those changes and I very seriously doubt that GD does that on their servers

I seriously doubt that any shared hosting plan is going to allow you to make such changes.

it takes few minutes to reflect those values.
wait 20min atleast after that open incognito window of browser.
then login on to your wordpress (or) cpanel

Get in touch with their support team would be beneficial. They might assist you in a easy way to get your query resolved.

If you don't contact them, and you try to weasel around their upload guidelines, it's a sure fire way for them to shut you down.

As you are about to try and circumvent their current limits, just ask yourself one question: do you feel lucky today?
