I find it odd that since PageRank went stealthy, people started obsessing about PA, DA and Alexa. Hmmmmmm

That's because MOZ and Alexa both are littering facebook ads with so called SEO advice... Seriously it's sick! These companies have 100% nothing to do with SEO yet they are putting out articles (mostly lame stuff) left and right and spending a good bit on ads.

OP: Alexa rank means nothing and is not a real number. Reload your website 1,000 times a day with the firefox plugin for alexa and you will see a better rank...

Yes, Alexa Rank is based on number of visits. It is not tied to SEO.

Ord Allenbea 12-24-2017 11:17 PM

No it's based on the number of reloads of a page. Alexa CAN'T track your servers traffic...

This happened because there is no activity since 1 year ago on your site. Increase the traffic to your website and update your website with the updated information.
If it is not optimized then optimize it and forget about the Alexa rank. Once you will get the good traffic to your website then your Alexa rank start improving but it is not necessary to focus on it.

You obviously have no clue how the Alexa ranking is determined

shaileshshakya 12-28-2017 09:00 AM

Alexa is only considered traffic. If you have very less traffic your ranking would be high and if your traffic is high your ranking would be less.

Ord Allenbea 12-28-2017 03:09 PM

Alexa can't track your website visitors....

It is worthless to worry about Alexa Rank dear!

mudassir 12-28-2017 11:27 PM

It depends on average page views and no. of visitors per day.

You really should READ threads before giving false information in your replies.

I don't understand. Alexa is a third party metrics which has nothing to do with Google or any SERP's. Then why care about it?;)

It became the new beacon of obsession when PageRank went dark.

Well its certainly is unhealthy. Because if you spend money and time for some type of exercise you don't actually need than you will certainly fall ill.

Indeed. A lot of people are unwilling to do the work, research or testing, and instead are looking for shortcuts to find the secret scrolls of Babylon to lead them to SERPs of nirvana.

If you really want to improve your Alexa than just increase the traffic to your site and your Alexa will get improved. It takes up to 24 - 48 hr to get your Alexa rank to change. You can try out by sending the huge traffic.
