How to Republish Old Blog Posts – and Why You’ll Want to
Problogger Darren Rowse has some tips for republishing old blog posts:

Are there posts buried in your archives that new readers would find helpful? Have some of your best posts become a little dated?
This is a great opportunity to update and republish your posts to get them in front of a fresh audience (or remind long-term readers they still exist)....

How to Republish Old Blog Posts – and Why You’ll Want to
I have followed Darren since way back when he started and respect his work. However I'm not sure changing the publication date and rescheduling for in the future is a smart idea. Some other long time professional bloggers have done this and when I click on the notice in my RSS feed I am disappointed that it is republished content. I think a better approach would be to update the article and let Google reindex the newer version.
Anyone that is not a popular blogger tried the reschedule idea?
