I donít want to take a look. Because by now, I know what Iím going to find. And it just makes me sad.

There it is, the capable site design. The perfectly decent headlines. The bullet points of usefulness. The careful, even painstaking articles, describing 7 Ways to Do the Thing.

This whole post seems to be about only one thing - writing in a different voice. There are so many other ways to make a post interesting - giving examples, telling a story, adding interesting images, infographics, videos. They aren't covered here. Half the article is dedicated to explaining why you shouldn't be boring - in a very esoteric kind of way, using contradictory examples. Spending time with kids is boring, but kids aren't boring? Those who find kids interesting also find spending time with them to be interesting.

Coming back to the post - it has fallen into the very trap which it asks its readers to avoid - being boring!

Contradictions seem to be very popular in certain blogging spheres.

I agree with you Vaguar, by paragraph 4 I was bored to tears and switched off. Maybe this was actually a a secret case study in boring posts.

I think contradictions arise mostly due to 2 situations:

1) You're in a hurry to publish your content & don't bother to double check - in such cases they are usually one off
2) You're a pseudo expert & don't really know the subject matter - contradictions become a pattern

Yes, number 2 is what I was referring to.
