What is Pokemon Go and why all the geeks talking about?

Every one talking about "Pokemon Go" on the web and I found that it is a modern Game for Android and iOS users. But I am unable to find it on both platforms. Is it not available in some of countries as I am from India?

In response to your question, in short it's a new free to play mobile game/app that involves actually augmented reality. The app works by using your mobile phones GPS to find your real-world location and then the app creates a video game map and shows you where you can find and catch a Pokemon with your phones camera.

This game application has been launched a couple of days before and is not available in all the countries. It is advisable not to use the app at the moment as it can not only access your personal information but also change the settings on your google account. However, luckily it cannot change the password.

If you want to play the game create a new Gmail account, and you will be safe.

This is incorrect.

We recently discovered that the Pokémon Goaccount creation process on iOS erroneously requests full access permission for the user's Google account. However, Pokémon Go only accesses basic Google profile information (specifically, your user ID and e-mail address) and no other Google account information is or has been accessed or collected. Once we became aware of this error, we began working on a client-side fix to request permission for only basic Google account information, in line with the data we actually access. Google has verified that no other information has been received or accessed byPokémon Go or Niantic. Google will soon reducePokémon Go's permission to only the basic profile data that Pokémon Go needs, and users do not need to take any actions themselves.

I'm 46. It is quite addicting. But, I was able to spend some fun time with my son last night as we tried to "Catch 'em all". And he is looking forward to another outing tonight. We must have walked at least 3-miles.

I have seen other parents walking around with their children and friends, too. So, I think the game is a really winner. We even called out to a few folks to see if they had caught a particular Pokemon. So the app is bringing family and community together.

cd :O)

People are certainly lauding it for it's mental and physical health benefits.

You can simply Googled about it, lots of news online about that game. ;) I'd like to try it but unfortunately it's not available yet in our country too.

It is still unavailable in India.

yeah, it's not available in some areas of the globe. It was running rampant in the US for a few months but seems to have died down. I'm sure there are a lot of people still playing it, but the fair weather players have stopped :(
