I belive in reliable hosting. It can be cheap: for instance the shared deals of MMhosting which is offering pretty high resources for price as 7 bucks a month. The stabilty and honesty is tested.

Sometimes you actually get a bargain when you buy into these 'cheap webhosting' or 'budget webhosting' packages. Yes, they are cheap, everything about it is budget. They have thousands of websites per server, sometimes tens of thousands. If you jump on the wagon early, you get a deal because there are more resources available. Rest assured that after 6 months, things will slow down a bit to where they will become quite slow sometiems. Yet other times you get decent service for what you pay for. Just my experience when it comes to budget plans

That is why I believe in reasoability of price. I think it is better to pay more, to get more, try looking through the offers of globaltap.com - price is above average, but as well the quality!

My opinion is down time or billing problem with big companies as well. You can find bad reviews around the web about, limited bandwidth, speed, disk space, billing, and site down problem etc. Some costly companies didn't justify with the hosting features as well.

I am not defending cheap/affordable hosting companies.

You can find problem with any company either it is a cheap or big company. Every person experience is different with different company.

Price versus quality. Wide open access versus managed services. In this day and age, technology has been forced to come down in the cost of the hardware. Individual companies set there own level of quality. Cavecreek Hosting for instance are excellent with support and service, and now they have a dedicated server winter promotion. Sometimes, you can have your cake and eat it too. Many companies offer many things. So, avoid spam. Research companies, and remember, there are many factors, but one goal, YOURS.

We provide cheap hosting and the quality we provide is amazing. The reason why we provide cheap hosting is because we are a relatively new host. Although we have many happy customers, people do not seem to trust cheap hosts.

I know this is crazy but we are going to be raising our prices soon just because everyone believes higher price = higher quality. Although for the most part this is true it's not always the case. Sometimes a higher price only means the company has already built a high reputation so consumers are happy to pay more.

sequencehosting, you make a valid point. It is unfortunate. When it comes to perceived value, many people believe that if it is a great price that they are sacrificing quality or service. Therefore, newer companies that have a great offer are usually not considered fairly. Certain companies combat this problem in a variety of ways. One of the older companies, Cavecreek Hosting invites the client to converse with them and they educate the client and listen to their needs, that way, even if that particular situation doesn't fit the client still leaves with a feeling of appreciation and trust. It also doesn't hurt that they are promoting their competitive winter special for dedicated servers. I hope that other companies follow suit because raising prices sometimes removes the company from consideration and that is too true, unfortunately.

I agree, it’s so hard to find the right balance. I like cavecreeks idea. The best thing to do as you mention is to treat every customer as your last. We have started to offer 7 day free trials now and it’s working like a treat
