99.9% Uptime Guarantee

If the company (apthost.com) promises 99.9% Uptime Guarantee - do you trust that?
Do you know companies that guarantee better uptime?

Companies that offer better up time cost more. There are 99.99% and there is also 99.999% these all require enterprise failover servers usually in a cluster and not in a shared hosting environment.

I incline to trust 99.99% uptime, any reputable company guarantee that. I have seen hostgator, webintellects and bluehost guarantee this uptime.
That's o'k.

It's not about trust, it's about getting guarantees if host's SLA is violated.

This is really commopn practice. and apthost.com in particular is a very stable and trustworthy host, so I think you may trust their guarantees.

That's normal when the company provides 99.9% uptime guarantee. no one may guarantee more.
Or that is scam.
Say glowhost.com offers this uptime and that's fair.

I also agree that 99.9% uptime guarantee is very decent and honest. Some companies try to claim 99.999% uptime which is unreasonable and in my experience, signs of shadiness, lol

99.9 is doable. Most companies offer some type of guarantee around that. It's typically simply a percentage of your monthly bill that you will receive as credit broken down by how much downtime happens. As just a pure example:

99.0-.99.8 = 10% credit
98.0-99 = 20%
etc.

That depends on the datacenter. If they own it I suppose that is possible - no doubts

You will find most company offer such uptime guaranties but only a few manage to fulfill them if the SLA is violated. So choosing a decent host that offers a guarantee is advsiable rather than choosting any kiddy host who offers the same guarantee.

The 99.9% is very commong among companies. Whether it is true you can get to know by getting information on the companies to know how reliable are they. I can say a2hosting.com might be considerwed as one of the most reliable.
