Success stories?

Anyone having any real success from this? I think that clearly it can be a stable source of income, but you would really have to have quite the customer base it seems...

How does this relate to reseller hosting? Let's stay on topic.

Most of the companies on the web hosting market are resellers. So I think there are plenty of successful stories.

Making a stable income from reseller hosting unfortunately won't be possible. You can make a profit, just not a lot. I would recommend having large amounts of capital and invest in servers and marketing. That way you have the servers to expand and the large stream of new clients.

Its hard work but it is possible. I would get some experience before starting your own host.

I find reselling is a great additional retainer fee for web design clients - they keep paying 10/mo after the original design is done, and it is very little work on my part. It is hardly a huge income, but it is passive and obviously welcome.

From experience, it is definitely something you have to work at. Don't expect booming sales overnight or else you'll be in for a big disappointment.

You can definitely be successful if you make the right decisions in terms of price and structure.

Well so far i have few clients via reseller account, but have lot of clients on our main hosting site. Reseller is good for starting hosting business, as in first years one have to work hard for promotion and sales of his products..

There are 2 types of reseller hosting,
  1. Reselling Hosting Services & Packages From An Existing Host
  2. Purchasing A Reseller Account And Creating Your Own Packages

The first is often used as a form of affiliate, where people are referred to the host using some sort of unique identifier usually a unique URL. The second is where they can create their own packages.

Many people do often opt for the second option, allowing them to create some sort of unique options for their customers.

I personally started off using a reseller then upgraded through the ranks as my customer base & income increased.
