DO NOT USE AUTICA OR MIDPHASE

I used Autica (MidPhase) until August 19th 2004 which as this point I decided I no longer needed the hosting account so I terminated the account as of this date. After this point Autica (MidPhase) billed me 2 additional times on my Visa credit card. Even though the e-mail says they will cancel the account within 14 days.

After 20 days I saw another bill from Midpoint, and so I decided to disbute the charge... After another 30 days they billed my card yet again.

When I called the technical support agent he said that I agreed to the contract when I originally signed up for service to which I never saw, read, or agreed to anything, and there is no signature anywhere on the document with my name they claim I agreed to.

After this I disbuted the 2 charges and changed my credit card number. I then received a letter from a collection agency saying that I owed $271.00 because they charged an additional 30% or so to collect the money.

Now in 2007 - almost 3 years later I try to get a loan for my house. I have not heard anything from the collection agency for the last year and a half, but they put a mark on my credit card score which means that it pushes me out of the category to be able to get my house.

At this point I am very frusterated with Autica and I have now made a mission of bringing this company to justice for unethically charging people, writing illigetimate contracts that nobody agrees to, and using illigal means to collect money they are not entitled to.

I would recommend not using this company for hosting because you will have a nightmare if you ever wish to cancel your service.

They said that it was in violation of their agreement yet when they collected the money from my VISA card they agreed to the merchant services agreement that allows for me to disbute charges that are unfounded... Funny how Visa allowed for me to get the money back.

Hey

This is a new post... I actually just started having problems with this because of the collections company putting this on my credit and this is the first time I tried to close a house. I do have accurate documentation that I sent both MidPhase and the collections company I also have a voice recording between myself and one of their representatives showing how rude they were and how they just don't care at that point... because its "against their policies" when really I ran the credit card through Visa and Visa's policies are that any disputes be handled through Visa's disputes resolution team.
