Vps for reseller, I have questions.

Okay I understand the best way to become a reseller is probably to use a vps.
I have some reseller accounts but like a vps or dedi now.

Do I have to have my own whm cpanel or will it be supplied to me.
I am used to hostgator having everything there for me.
Is there a company that supplies everything I need in the price.

What else should I look for.

Yes, VPS or dedicated servers is the best way to start web hosting services for your clients and you do manage your OS yourself to get to know more internal of server and its maintenance.

You need WHM/cPanel license for managing your hosting accounts, there are other control panels also available like Plesk in market. cPanel will be easy to manage your websites. Go through the DNS part, you would also need DNS servers for your hosting accounts. cPanel for DNS servers are not charged and is Free. You will be able to get WHM/cPanel license for managing web hosting accounts with most of the Web hosting companies or directly cPanel license resellers. On cPanel/WHM VPS it is cPanel Optimized.

But a couple of more questions

1. What price should I look for and what stats on the vps.
2. Also do you know the price of the whm/cpanel and can I not use a script. I saw one script out there that lets you do master reselling but seems like that would work for regular hosting too.

Also How much do yah offer in way of diskspace and bandwidth on your hosting accounts you sell.

Thank you so much.

We usually suggest that if you are not comfortable with using Linux command line or have a basic knowledge of Linux then stick with a reseller account. If your comfortable with Linux and understand the basics of securing/optimizing it then a VPS might be a better option.

Most providers will sell a cPanel VPS license for around $15.00 or less. Actually installing cPanel is easy to do and takes around 30-45 minutes depending on the speed of your VPS.

Yes, Cpanel license usually costs $10, on the Cloud machine Cpanel can be installed within 15-20 minutes. On Virtuozzo or OpenVz servers, the panel installation process can take up to 3 hours.

If it doesn't matter for you which control panel to choose, just order Plesk or ISP Lite. These control panel are installed within 20-25 minutes on a Linux VPS or dedicated server.

Moreover, the license for ISPLite is really cheap and they offer life time licenses.

Basically if you have good knowledge to manage the Linux Server then you can go ahead with the VPS or Dedicated server with the cPanel, you can found out many options, discounts etc in google search and if you don't know how to manage the Linux Server then its always better to purchase the reseller account and set the private nameserver for your reseller account because in reseller account your reseller account provider will manage your clients problem as well but make sure that you have first confirm with them .....

I think you should check out WiredTree. They offer proactive managed VPS with cPanel/WHM included. Their services will probably make you feel as if you are still on shared hosting. If you don't know how to manage your own server you should stay away from unmanaged services and stay with a managed provider.

Yes, the best way to get know something is to use it.

If you are looking for a VPS or a Dedi, it normally doesn't have cPanel unless you pay extra for it. It can be had.

You will need a managed VPS or Dedi if you want everything done for you. If you want to resell VPS, talk to the company you want to resell - sure they'll work something out for you.

You need to look for a company that is willing to work with you and establish and long term relationship to get your business going. No point looking for real budget providers as they already don't have much margins to budge anyway - nor do they usually have good support to help you get over the line if you lack experience.
