What kind of issues were you having? Are you looking for Linux or Windows based hosting? While there are several hosting companies that all got bought out by the same entity and some reports are that service has suffered, there are still many good providers out there. it depends on what you're looking for. If you can provide a list of your needs and issues you had, I'm sure members in this community can provide suggestions based on their experience.

From a host's perspective I can say that not every host in a good fit for every person. So detailing what you need and the problems you've had in the past will go a long way in getting quality suggestions.

Solanzz, you should first tell us why you need reseller web hosting. Is it for yourself or do you want to start your own company? For the moment I just assume that you're looking to earn income online through web hosting sales. There are many good reseller programs but most of them are expensive. Personally I have been a member of a free program since 2005 and it all works out quite well. There is no catch so it's really 100 percent free and they offer a professional range of tools to start with. Also the company's support can be seen as excellent. weloveourhost.com/resellers.html is the URL you need. All the best!

I think he means sub.domain.com. So if this is a classified ad site probably for something like austin.classifiedsite.com, miami.classifiedsite.com etc. Most providers will not limit you on the number of subdomains. You're only limited by the space, bandwidth and resource usage of the site. As long as you don't go over that, you shouldn't be limited by number of subdomains. Not every provider is the same so just look at their features and see what they have listed for subdomains.

You might be better off purchasing a dedicated server or a VPS server as you got room to upgrade the hardware and software to get more space. Like mentioned in the previous post, most web hosts allow you unlimited sub-domain's but the more bandwidth and hard drive space you use up, the more expensive the server will cost you. Check out Hostgator.com

Why do you want a reseller hosting account verus a regular hosting account? I am not talking about shared web hosting either.

You should start out on shared web hosting and as your site grow's, then think about investing money into a server..etc (upgrading hosting account)

If you plan to grow the site really large in a short time span then spend the money up front. When I started a forum (sold it in 2007) I started out on shared web hosting and right before I needed to move to a server, I had sold the forum (personal reasons) but I told the new owner that you need a dedicated server. I didn't want to invest a lot of money in hosting costs when the profits wouldn't cover the hosting costs. lol (Made a good chunk of change off the sell though)

These are now owned by EIG and from what I've heard they're slowly going down hill.

What exactly have you heard that indicates their impending demise is forthcoming?

Nothing regarding their demise just that their services and support and going down ward in quality. Web Hosting Talk is littered with discussions on EIG with many of their customers ditching them because of their lack of support.

You should also consider a semi-dedicated plan. You share a server with 1-2 other large sites or resellers. You'll have higher resources, you'll have more control over the server configuration and have more overall control then you would on a standard shared plan.
