Lightbulb Reseller Hosting is Better than Dedicated Server

Hello
I feel most of the times to most of the hosting companies reseller hosting may be better compared with dedicated severs. More so if one gets a technically sound company to be reseller of and they have speedy support.
Any one in favour of dedicated servers?

You know it's difficult to say for sure what's better. All depends on your requirements and final aims. I mean what you want to reach. You can't compare such two different things.

Sure that is true but there can be many points which are common to most hosting services.

Like once you buy are server you need to have technical know how to manage it or hire people for that.

Why not to go for upgration of reseller plans than going for server unless there are specific needs which dictate the root access to server is needed.

What it chance of needing root access, in your hosting experience, if you are a reseller, how many times you really felt that a such functions are needed that demand a root access or need to have a dedicated server.

I think it all depends on your level of server knowledge and how many people you have working for you, and their knowledge. If you can manage the server yourself and provide 24/7/365 support then a dedi server would probably be best.

If you don't have the experience to help your clients with their time sensitive problems or have the staffing to deal with these problems, then a reseller account would be the best fit.

Really it breaks down to how much control you need and how much you can handle? The up side of a dedi server is the large amount of space and bandwidth you get for the price of the server. But if you can't mange or provide the customer support yourself the price can sky rocket. Yes, a reseller account may not have the true space and bandwidth of a dedi, but the price of 4 reseller accounts will probably be less than all the other fess.

its 2 plan for 2 different type of user need.

indeed i m currently moving to reseller plan, cause i want to resell hosting plan. Not to run huge website myself. dedi will not suite me this time. Unless, i already got so many customer frm my reselling, and i ready to upgrade to own server. see it as a bigger needs.

Both cannot be compared to each other. Reseller hosting is good to get started with the hosting business without too many hassles. Dedicated servers are best suited for space, bandwidth and other server resources intensive websites.
